Julio's Tex-Mex Restaurant, Restaurant & Cantina — Restaurant in Tupelo

I thought, due to the reviews that I read, that this was going to be an awesome Tex mex experience. I was wrong! We started off with ordering nacho supreme with beef, no beans, add chicken and shrimp. Well, it was like a glorified rabbit salad. There was so much lettuce on it that they had no room to put anything else but six little shrimp, about three small table spoons of beef and about an 1/8cup of chicken. We then moved on to order the main course in hopes of something better after expressing to John that we were very dissatisfied with the special order nachos. Well my fajitas looked liked they were sitting in purgatory kitchen skillet for a very long time. Not very appealing at all. Then I looked at my husband's plate and noticed that the pick three choice dish had only two picks. His quesadilla was a no show. After wait for John to come back for some time, he then eventually appeared. We expressed once again there was a problem. Then asked where was the quesadilla? He apologized as sprinted off to find the missing quesadilla. He returned about a minute later or less with meat in a tortilla she'll folded like a taco. I then looked John straight in the face and said, "That is not a quesadilla"! My husband knowing my frustration said, "That's how y'all make quesadilla?" John strutted at first the mumbles , "Yes, that's how, that's how we make them here." By now, my husband knows that my patience has come to a close end a d said we need boxes and the check. John then returned right away with boxes and our check in hand. Needless to say, but when you don't get what you pay for, you don't reward bad service. It's the first time in a very long time that we did not leave a very rewarding tip to bless those that work hard in the food service industry. If only he had not lied to us, I would have still tipped very generously and knocked it up to the kitchen cooks. But!...

We can in with a party of 6. We ordered drinks and was brought 1 basket of chips and 1 contanier of salsa. That lasted no time at all. So then we waited for 40 something minutes and then our food arrived. 3 out of the 6 orders were correct. The 3 that were wrong were taco salads!!! How do you mess up a taco salad?! Well mine for instance, was a shell full of soup! I ordered a regular ground beef taco salad minus the guacamole! My mother ordered a taco salad with ground beef and shredded chicken- but she got a ground beef only. My daughter ordered a ground beef only and received a shredded chicken only. How was that so complicated?! And the waiter was writing the order down?! Sad! Terrible service! And the food wasn't worth the prices at all! Only had 1 chance for a refill and had to ask for the second one... The waiter wouldn't wait around long enough for us to get out what we were trying to even ask for. I guess he was a mind reader.. SMH!! Obviously, that wasn't the case or our order would have been correct! Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone! Especially when the place maybe had 5 other tables of people in it!! Went to pay the tab, handed the young lady 4 twenty dollar bills and she is gonna ask is this $80?! Lol...

Place is beautifully designed.. the interiors are catchy.. There was no waiting when we reached there.. we got our table quickly but we had to wait for long just to place our order as no one came to us for long after serving complimentary chips and salsa.. thank god we had those chips!! Well, when we at last placed our order we again waited long for our food to be served. And after all that waiting I was hoping for a scrumptious meal as i was starving.. but sadly, food was just ok .. not too good.. not too bad. After the meal, when we went to the counter, i was surprised to see the queue over there waiting near the billing counter.. seriously..!!!! There were few regulars there, i guess who were saying that staff was short that day otherwise service is very good here.. Well, i dont know about that as I went there for the first time and i will always gonna remember this visit for waiting.. waitingg and more waitinggg.. no one likes to wait for that long.. the environment in there, interiors, the feel was good though.. still, for me it was an okay visit and an...
