Our first experience dining in (last week) was very good. Our server was professional and friendly and made sure my mushroom allergy was well-noted. I was able to enjoy everything!
I ordered the lobster hibachi dinner and my darling husband ordered the steak & shrimp hibachi dinner combo. They're was so much food, we were able to take some home! Which was great because it's a bit pricey. And the quality and amount of food matched the price.
Sooo...after such a great experience, we went back, tonight, for take-out.
Unfortunately, this experience wasn't nearly as pleasant. The food I could eat, tasted good (cold, a bit too saucy, but good enough). The soup had mushrooms in it, so I couldn't eat it. And I love soup, so I was very disappointed. We could only eat part of one salad as jald of one and all of the other had old wilted leaves in it.
To make things more disappointing after paying more than $60 for just 2 dinners, we received much smaller portions of everything.
So not only could we not eat everything we ordered because my mushroom allergy was ignored, salad old and yucky, but the portions were much smaller.
This time, we didn't get much of what...
Read moreKyoto was a good restaurant at one time, now not so much. Upon entry, the floor was tacky liked they had mopped with sugar water. This was at lunchtime and it was not busy at all. The waitress was ok, but not very attentive. Our salad came when the meal was served. Thought salads were served before the meal and it was swimming in dressing, just an overkill. But, before I could eat, I went through 3 sets of silverware, they were all sticky with food stuck on them. It really didn’t matter because the chicken was way over cooked and dry. Where the grills are, it looked like storage space with a kids bicycle, just weird. Do they even use the grills anymore? One last thing, I would have preferred Japanese music in the background than country music. Not that there’s anything wrong with country music, it just didn’t fit the atmosphere. Note to self, if you walk in a restaurant and the floor is sticky, just turn...
Read moreMy wife and I have eaten at Kyoto several times here in tupelo and have always enjoyed it. Somewhat hidden in a back shopping center off the main road, but well worth the find. We usually get a Bento box for lunch, but from time to time we get the shrimp or chicken tempura appetizer and fried rice and share as it is plenty for 2 people. The crab rangoon appetizer is always a must for us, and i like the dark ginger sauce on those. The tanginess mixed with the cream cheese center in ver good. My wife is a yum yum sauce person and enjoys their version very much. The ginger dressing on the salad is just ok, but not the worst I have ever had. The interior could use a little touch up in my opinion, but we've never had bad service or bad food. Definitely one of our go to restaurants when we are...
