We'd have to say this last visit was anything other than a disgrace to the service we normally receive when we come. We came as a non-reservation, expecting to have to wait for a table, so we sat in the bar area. After 2.5 hours of waiting - others that came in after us that were also non-reservation - were seated before we ever got called for a table. At three hours my husband went back out (as we had been doing to check on our spot in line for the three hours every 20 mins and the lady at the desk when there kept saying we had 2 others in front of us) he went to tell her that we were just going to eat at the bar area because tables were open there. Well that in itself was a a biiigggg mistake. The service there by the staff was extremely the worst we have ever received. The lady behind the bar watched as two waitresses looked at us, stood talking to each other and then walked to two other tables. No one ever came to our table for a drink order or food order. They just walked around us never stopping even when we tried calling out to them.
After waiting on service from anyone for well over thirty mins after sitting down, my husband walked to the bar and spoke to the lady behind the bar and asked for her to take our food and drink order. She said she would and did and would get one of the other lady's to bring it to us and apologized for the actions of the others. She said she was watching and saw how they were doing us and couldn't explain why. Neither could we. For a total of five hours we waited for a table for four hours, service at the table we finally were able to seat ourself at, for 35 mins. Got our food that ended up cold by the way, and were gone in another 30 mins. I have to say, of all the times we have been to Woody's this was by far the worst. Makes us wonder if you'd only get good service if you make a reservation - otherwise you don't. We only want you to be aware of the service and how things went to hopefully prevent others from this getting the same experience. We normally get really good service and maybe this was an off night or something. Just hope it's not a reoccurring event.
The food is normally great, hot and service had been great in the past. We will give it another try, and hope the service is better. If not, we...
Read moreHad a reservation for 8PM which was met on time by the staff. Our table was already set up amd ready for us which was a plus but then the experience went downhill pretty fast . We ordered at 810 amd got our food at 936PM - over an HOUR LATE!!! It was not that busy so there is really no explanation for this long wait. We were offered the customary bread but that was it and it was only 2 VERY small "loaves" for a table of 5!! The butter was a homemade butter with berroes which sounds bad but was actually quite good. The bread and butter are the only reason this place is getting 1 star from me. To top it off - the table behind us was having some sort of get together and they were absolutely obnoxious - loud, drunk, and the language was crude and vulgar and no one from the staff asked them to be respectful and quiet down for the rest of the patrons. Finally - the food. The menu sounded absolutely delicious and at the EXTREMELY high prices - we expected a decent meal. Well that remained just an expectation. The food was bland, our steaks were overcooked and my sons burger just fell apart to the point that he could not even hold it together. Overall a...
Read moreI have to say, I was a bit let down here.
For $75, I got some gator bites, the 16 oz prime ribeye, a slice of cheesecake, and a whiskey. The gator bites were okay, but honestly the remoulade stood out more than the bites did. The steak was okay. It was tender and cooked perfectly, but it really wasn't worth writing home about. The cheesecake was passable, but maybe just a step above what you get in the freezer section of Wal-Mart or any dessert buffet bar.
If this had all come to around $40 or even $50, I would be overjoyed, and this would be a five star review. But the fact that it was $75, I don't really see the value here. I can go to Texas Roadhouse, get a steak that was only of slightly lesser quality, skip the gator bites, and be happier for it.
Don't get me wrong, it was a great meal, and the berry butter they serve with the bread was fantastic! The atmosphere was perfect for a date or an anniversary, or some time when you'd like to flaunt your wallet. But overall, if you want a great steak and a good value for it, I would recommend...
