Where do I begin..its a Sunday night, around 11pm, we came in and there wasn't anyone to greet us, I know this position usually seats the customers so I gave them a break, until I see there isn't anyone on the "floor" besides literally 2 servers! My family and I sit and wait for someone to come and attend us, around 10 minutes; meanwhile a couple comes in and waits a bit before the woman says out loud " I'll seat myself", and they do. By this time I am saying this is ridiculous! I see the servers talking to each other and I but in and ask if we sit ourselves?? He goes to get someone...we wait another 5 minutes before she comes and says anything to us.. BTW this is not the jist of my complaint, I can wait 15 minutes, it would of been nice to get a little heads-up about it but oh-well...and then there's this....
We are almost done with our meal before we see what this review is dedicated to.... More than a handful of EMPLOYEES ridiculing, humiliating, and taking pictures/videos of a customer who had left the restaurant less than 20 minutes before (who was either suffering from some type of disorder or disability, or possibly under the influence- he did not act in the restaurant in any way that was erratic, but was dozing off here and there). He was outside yelling and screaming for no apparent reason. The part that is upsetting is that you could literally see them all flock to the front doors laughing hysterically, telling customers about him, and one male employee even shouted "Worldstar" a couple of times. I understand that we live in a generation that is internet and social media obsessed, but this is not okay, and SHAME on the MANAGER for going to take a look at that poor man, and not instructing his employees to return to their duties or to put their phones away! If they were concerned in any way, isn't that what 911 is for?? But wait, this wasn't a concern to them, it was something to mock..This is just another sad example of bullying!!! I'm sure those employees will have it posted on YouTube any time now...I will not be back to this Applebee's seeing how they treat their customers, while on the clock and recording without consent!!!! And if that guy they thought was fun to laugh at ends up finding the video, I hope he gets...
Read moreI placed an order online for delivery at the applebees on fulkreth rd in turlock ca. It cost me $103.00 and I only received half of my food. 4 out of 5 of the meals were missing the fries and and one of the orders was missing coleslaw. I called the applebees to let them know I was missing half of my food and the first person I spoke with put me on hold. Next, the manager, John, got on the phone. I explained my story again, and before I could finish John interrupts me and says let me put you on hold for a minute. I waited 9 full minutes and the phone disconnected. I called back, immediately John answers and I start to explain again for the 3rd time. He Interrupts and said "is this fries"? He then proceeded to question me about each and every item on the order and even asked if I was sure I was missing the items!! Finally he tells me that he is going to send me a coupon good towards my next purchase ($10). I told him that was not sufficient and asked if I could come get the missing food (the kids wanted their fries!) He replies with "yes, I just didn't think u would want to come all the way down here for some fries".. by now I am irritated and I insist that I be comped only for my delivery fee since I would now be driving to retrieve half of my order while the other half got cold. He assures me he can do that, I thank him, and go down there. Once I get there john sends out another employee with the fries and slaw and a coupon Towards my next purchase instead of the delivery fee. I asked to speak with john and was left waiting for quite a while. Finally john comes outside with the coupon again. I spent atleast 15 min arguing with john about why I did not want the coupon since I will not be returning to applebees anymore! Reluctantly john goes back inside to get the delivery charge cash leaving me waiting again. But finally he gave me my delivery charge back and I returned home to eat my cold wilted lettus sandwich and the kids finally got their cold fries. I realize human error happens. I am not upset about the error. I am upset with John's customer service skills and the amount of time I spent fighting for...
Read moreI've never had an issue with applebees except at this one. The atmosphere was nice and the lady who seated us was very friendly. However our waitress was horrible. She did not come to take our order at all we waited at the table foe about 10 minutes before we asked if someone could take our order. They all seemed confused as to who was supposed to be helping us but the lady who seated us came and told us that she would let the girl know again that she was supposed to help us. Even after that she kept going to the table behind us (we sat in the booths and they were right next to us) and would chit chat for a good 3-5 minutes at a time but her visits were so frequent it seemed like she was there the whole time. I believe they were her friends because they all kept joking around and gossiping. She would make eye contact with us but then ignore us. It took forever to get our food but when we did it was very delicious. She never refilled our drinks or asked if we needed anything we had to always go find someone else. Finally when we were about to leave she walked over from the table next to us and told us that she was sorry she didn't want it to seem like she wasn't ignoring us and that she was confused. Too late, she had looked over at us and then ignored us too many times for me to believe her. We had waited the whole hour and it wasn't until we were leaving for her to walk away from her friends and actually acknowledge us. I'm sure this applebees is great but she was a terrible server and the worst thing about this place. The other people who helped us were great and the food...
