Don't go here. They will try to sell you a $199 plan, no matter the issue. I had a laptop driver issue the guy admitted was an easy fix. Nonetheless, the scheme works like this: pay $99 for a diagnostic (despite them knowing the issue), $99 for software work, and an additional $49 repair fee. Or instead you can get a great deal by paying $199 for an annual membership! So, you're presented with an overpriced $247 option, with unnecessary fees, to fix a computer worth around the total cost of the fix, or a slightly cheaper alternative in the form of a membership. The plan may make sense if you have many devices likely needing attention throughout the year. Otherwise, it's like having a $15k car and paying $10k/year in insurance that won't fully cover it. Lastly, the guy this Sunday afternoon became belligerent, saying I was "aggressive" because I questioned the appropriateness of the plan. He claimed he was only a customer service person, not a salesman, all while he held a board of the various prices, attempting to convince me the annual membership was best. Only he was more laughable than the scheme that guarantees you won't pay less than $200, even for a driver update they admit will take them 5...
Read moreDon't bother coming here for computer repairs. They are either going to charge you to ship it for someone to look at it, which they didn't find anything wrong, yet my laptop still won't turn on. Or tell you to take it to another shop in Tuscaloosa since they know what they are doing rather than the staff at Best Buy, apparently. I feel like you shouldn't advertise consultations as free if it takes so many hoops to jump through to even get someone to look at it. You might as well take your business elsewhere rather than deal with incompetency. I've never been to a geek squad who did not know how to do their job, but last week was the first time. I was not going to post since they seemed nice enough, but this is ridiculous this has been ongoing...
Read moreThis is first complaint review I have ever written, however I hope I can deter someone from having the same experience. I made an appointment to have my phone looked at today. The person I spoke with didn’t even look at my phone and said the only service he could provide for me would be to charge me $325 dollars and return my phone in 10 days. Being a full time student paying my way through law school, I quickly declined. I went to the IPhone Clinic in downtown Tuscaloosa and they completely fixed my phone for free. Please do yourself a favor, save $325 dollars and don’t get swindled by uncaring and...
