I have worked in the restaurant industry before as a server so I do not take what I am about to say lightly.
I understand the job can be very stressful, especially with rude customers and things can get hectic when youâre super busy.
Just a little bit ago, I made a mobile order through the app for this Taco Bell location. When I ordered on the app, it only gave me the option to pick it up through the drive thru. So naturally, I got in line. When it was my time to pull up to the speaker, the woman working told me I either needed to wait or come inside. I wasnât sure if I could get my order inside or not since the app told me to get it from the drive thru. So I waited.
Honestly, I waited for a while. But, I was willing to keep waiting because I wasnât sure what else to do. Cars had started coming up behind me in the drive thru line as well. After maybe 10-15 (maybe, could have been shorter) minutes, a car behind me started to try and get out of the line. The pulled forward pretty quickly and almost hit the car in front of them. Next their was a car horn and I couldnât tell if it was the car trying to leave or the car in front of them. Regardless, it wasnât me.
Then, after the car horn, the woman came over the speaker and started yelling at me. Iâm pretty sure her words were along the lines of âI told you it would be a wait or you can come inside but if you canât wait, you might as well come inside and join the party.â Not especially rude or anything, but I donât appreciate being yelled at. Still, this is was understandable because she couldnât have known it wasnât me. When I informed her it wasnât me, she continued yelling. I didnât want to sit there and be yelled at for something I didnât do, so I left. I cancelled my order on the app.
This whole situation just lacked any sort of professionalism and was just plain rude, honestly. I did nothing wrong, yet I was yelled at by an employee. Furthermore, I want to say that I have seen this Taco Bell wayyyy more crowded before. Granted, theyâre normally pretty slow, but Iâve never experienced something like this before. The fact they were struggling to this magnitude for what Iâd assess as a fair-sized crowd, but a smaller one than what this location is accustomed to, Iâd say they were probably understaffed or something. On a Saturday night, this is a sign of poor management.
I give my full support and empathy to people who work in any sort of food-related industry weather it be a sit-down restaurant or fast-food because I know they have to deal with/put up with a lot while theyâre working, but this was simply...

I personally called the store and they answered the phone and what sounded like they answered and then laid the phone down and never hung the phone up. Highly upset with this because now what am I supposed to do. Reorder and have to pay another delivery fee and tip the driver. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. There were no signs written or displayed saying that you could not personally order. I pulled up to the window and informed the manager there should be a sign stating that .
