I am usually easy-going when I am treated poorly in restaurants, but the line was crossed when my whole family was mistreated. Just visited this place two days ago with my family. I recommended to my family for dinner out because of great experience in the past. NOT ANYMORE!!! It was horrible and distasteful. First, there were less than 7 customers that night so I expected the service to be hot and ready. Nope. Guess what happened? Tazikis's and their employees totally insulted my whole family for bringing COLD FOODS that had been prepared hours ago. The cooks had THE NERVE to not care about preparing fresh food to us. They weren't busy; they were lazy and having a laugh because there were having good time not SERVING customers. Plus, the meat portion of the servings were BURNT and seemed to be brought over from leftovers. It was like all the food we served was half the size of the kid-size meal. (We ordered all our food from Takiziki's feast section.) The food looked pathetic because it was nothing like a "feast". Other healthy fast-foods have bigger portion than this. We even paid a decent tip for a place that doesn't enforce it. I am also angered that the cashier nonchalantly came over and asked "how is the food?". I had to brush off any negative emotions so I can at least eat the foods I paid for - what a waste of money. Last opinion: I felt that my family was served differently from other customers. Based on my memory, we were the only Asians. Some may say stop playing the "race card", but I only mention it when I strongly believe that race played into how my family and I were treated. As a person who had been in this situations before, I am expressing my experience. To Tazikis: Thanks for the rudeness; as a show of gratitude, my family and I won't even go near your place. I hate to throw away my hard-earned money to this place. To the employees: Had enough laughs? Feel proud of what you did? Think you did nothing wrong? Read moreI am VERY impressed with not only the great customer service but with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the prices, menu options and quality of food! I have not been able to find a Mediterranean dish that I enjoy, (rarely trying anything outside of a gyro). I find some Mediterranean dishes to be over whelming with a citrus or cucumber taste, with little dill flavoring or even bland however, the tzatziki sauce is homemade with the best ingredients and NOT from a container, and it shows! It is very fresh with a great mix of flavors! I missed the picture and the name however, they have a new appetizer that has pita chips and a honey/ brie cheese mix (I believe mix) it is extremely tasty! A must try!
My favorite dish so far (outside of the traditional dishes) is the salmon bowl! The salmon is a sushi grade, freshly cut and NOT frozen or pre-portioned cut! The cooks know how to fire this bad boy up, providing nothing but EXCELLENT flavor! Cooked to perfection! Give it a try! I assure you, you will be back for more! Read moreI went in to pick up a delivery order and the order took twenty minutes longer than expected. When I asked an employee if they could check on my order they were really rude to me. Once I got my order and was on my way out of the door, a manager stopped me and asked me when I got the delivery order. Instead of apologizing for the order being late the manager then told me that instead of asking them about the order that I should have just sat and waited for the order. I have been a delivery driver for five months and haven’t experienced that kind of disrespect before. I have also worked at five other restaurants so I am understanding of mistakes because I have been there before. Accidents happen, but instead of blaming others, the manager and employees need to take accountability for their mistakes and communicate that to the guests and drivers. I was really disappointed in their lack of respect. Take your business to one of the other great restaurants in Tuscaloosa.
