I’m really glad many people suggested this place. I ended up bringing 2 out of my 3 boys for a late lunch. I had a coupon that was burning a hole in my pocket, so I really had no choice haha.
We showed up as the lunch/church rush was dying down (around 1:45pm). I ordered some onion rings and ranch for our appetizer and the sirloin tacos for my entree. One of my boys ordered the patty melt and the other ordered the crispy beef tacos.
The onion rings showed up first with a bottle of ranch. Now this wasn’t just any old ranch. It was obviously homemade and very good. The onion rings had a nice crunchy texture to them and they were gone before I knew it.
The food arrived shortly after. I remember asking the waitress if I could get the sirloin for my tacos as close as possible to medium rare and they honestly did a great job of accomplishing that. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The tortillas were nice and soft and the veggies seemed fresh. It also came with some avocado, sour cream, pico, and some salsa on the side, which went great with the tacos.
I tried my son’s patty melt and fries. The fries themselves were delicious. They reminded me of jucy’s fries. They were a match made in heaven dipped in the ranch. The patty melt was very juicy and tender and the onions were nicely grilled. The bread was buttered and toasted to perfection.
I also got to try a bite of my other son’s crispy taco. The taco shell couldn’t have been cooked any better. It had the perfect crunch to it. The meat inside was seasoned well and I’d honestly order them myself next time. Both taco plates came with some Mexican rice as well. It was decent lol.
The boys got some free ice cream before we left and they really enjoyed that as well. I completely forgot about the free beans or else I would be commenting on those too🤦🏼♂️
I’m sure everyone has already tried this place, but in case you haven’t, I highly recommend...
Read moreIm start off by saying, this is my favorite restaurant. I do want to say, we all have our good days and our bad days. Must have been an off night. We did proceed to let my teenage son place his order. I did ask the waitress to give me a few minutes to get a hold of my mother to see what she wanted to eat, becase she was at work. My son received his food. As all the was going on. Our waitress proceeded to wait on everyone else in the restaurant. She not once came back to see of my son a refill on his drink. She walked past us 5 times. She not onced asked me if i was ready to order not once. So by the time she finally made time for us. I was already upset and no longer wanted to order any food. I just ordered my mother a BLT sandwich. As a waitress. You would think she would hold accountability and try to fix the situation and ask if there would be way to fix the situation of me to order any food and try and make me happy. But she did not try to fix the situation. She tried nothing at all on her part of accountability. I pray she was just tired and having an off day. If not she needs to try harder at her job. I did have a video of how many times she did pass us and not a checking on us to see if i was ready to order. I did delete it. I pray for better...
Read moreMy son and I ate lunch there on a Monday afternoon during lunch rush. There was quite a bit of a wait to be seated, as they were packed full. The hostess wasn't very friendly, but the serving and kitchen staff are very friendly and welcoming, and very helpful. We sat off on the side, in the bar area, not the main dining room in front of the kitchen, and we had four different people come to our table to make sure our dining needs were exceptionally met. I had not eaten at Daniel Boone's in about two years or more, so I ordered several different dishes to re-aquaint myself with their fare. The fried pickles were soft and mushy, and I found them to be inedible. The potato logs are simply half a baked potato cut into strips, it seems, but they were good. My son enjoyed a hamburger. I loved their one-pound hamburger steak and mashed potatoes, it's my favorite dish of theirs. The CFS was decent. The loaded baked potato was very good as well. The fried okra was soft in the middle. The black-eyed peas were good. The free pinto beans, chili, and Blue Bell ice cream is all very delicious. The portions are appetite satisfying. I like Daniel Boone's and will definitely return, hopefully more often than...
