I’m not sure how or why I haven’t tried Oliveto Italian Bistro yet, but I’m so glad I finally made my way there for lunch today. I had a $25 off coupon if you spend $50 or more, so I figured I had no choice in the matter haha.
I said down at the table with my wife and 2 of my boys. We all looked through the menu and decided on what we wanted. Julio was our waiter and he did a phenomenal job the entire time.
My twins ordered the 2 for $25. They got the hearth baked cheese bread as their appetizer and one got the fettuccine Alfredo and the other got a cheese pizza. My wife ordered the Italian nachos and I got the chicken parmesan.
Everything was great, but there was one dish in particular that was incredible!!! The Italian nachos😍
The chips are made using crispy wontons, which is what really made them stand out so much. They were light and airy, with the perfect crunch to them. All of the toppings seemed to blend so well together, especially the drizzle of balsamic reduction and alfredo sauce over the top. I would honestly go back multiple times for these nachos alone. We ordered ours with no red peppers, olives, or jalapeños.
We also got the dulce de leche bread pudding for dessert and that alone was worth the trip!!!
I know I’m late to the party, but if you haven’t tried this place, I highly recommend...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Oliveto's for a Valentine's Day dinner. We were greeted at the door and told that it would be up to 20 minutes before we could get seated. Then, to our surprise, a waitress began cleaning off the only vacant table! In less than 10 minutes, we were seated! We decided to take advantage of the advertised special on our table, which was an appetizer two entrees for $25.00. We ordered the cheese bread appetizer of the two choices. Of the four entrees, my husband chose the Fire Roasted Pizza with jalapenos, and I chose the Chicken Alfredo. My husband said that the pizza was "OFF THE CHAIN"!! He said it was the BEST pizza he had ever eaten! The crust was light and crispy, not doughy like others he had eaten. My meal was SO GOOD! The Chicken Alfredo was delicious, with tender, bite-sized chicken, mushroom s, and noodles in a wonderful Alfredo sauce. We ordered two glasses of wine, which tasted good for a house wine. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The meal came within 20 minutes, which was fantastic considering how busy the restaurant was! The atmosphere wasn't romantic because of the bright lights and loud voices, but the meal more than made up for that. We WILL be going back! PS., they are located in Tyler at HWY110 and Loop 323, next to...
Read moreWe aren't sure why this has a 4.3 rating. We decided to try the other night. Rather empty dining room, surprising as I had received recommendations to reserve a table. It wasn't necessary.
Our server was pleasant, but slow considering the lack of people. When I asked about pasta for gluten sensitivity, she stated they had that litte pee-nee type. I said penne and she agreed. Not the best way to represent a restaurant if you can't even pronounce their food items.
Two of us had the lasagna, which was not warm and incredibly bland and tasteless. Each lasagna had one bread stick. They ate only half...not good enough to finish.
One person had the alfredo penne with shrimp and chicken, said Olive Garden is by far better. It looked the nicest out of all our meals.
I had the gluten free Amore pizza. For the price, the size was tiny and the flavors were off. I have found better GF pizzas in the grocery store. If you want a good GF restaurant pizza, go to Rotolos in the Cumberland Mall off Broadway.
A couple of us tried their desserts. The flourless chocolate cake is about the size of a small hockey puck, but the cheesecake was a hit.
Needless to say, all the hype is for those who have never had authentic Italian food!! We tried, but will go next door to Don...
