I've been to this hangers of hope location before but today was awful and I won't be back!
I found a perfect skirt for me (which is hard for me to.) that I absolutely loved, but no tag! I wasn't too worried because at this store and other stores I've been able to be repriced at the register. I get up there and I am told they have a team who decide the prices and they had gone home for the day.
I offered to pay up to $10 (the price of some dresses I saw there today!) For an item that had been donated for free!
Tried to see if they could hold it for me, reprice it, and then I come back another day and purchase it.
When I mentioned I had been able to "reprice" items before. The manager said "well we changed the policy because people would rip off tags and stickers to get a cheaper price." He gave me a look and then he accused me of doing such actions.
The manager said "his hands are tied" and even as I continued to try and reason to work something out he chose to ignore me!
So over a missing tag they decided to lose part of a donation for a very good and charitable cause. Which is ridiculous because the items for sale are donated for free.
I even checked with other locations today and they would've been able to reprice items!

Read moreI use to enjoy shopping at both Hangers of Hope thrift stores. Last few months they have gone way up in prices. Jeans are now $9.99 and up even for the walmart brands. They have enough coming in to sell stuff a little more reasonable. Some prices are retail. Some more than retail. There's stuff on the shelves for a long time and nothing is ever marked down. They took away the point system and added a Tuesday only discount. Not everyone can shop on a Tuesday. On toys they have a bogo but nothing like other thrifts stores in area. It use to be more organized and had sections for certain items, now stuff is put anywhere and everywhere. The book area was so nicely put together in categories and now its so messy. Hopefully they will improve to serve ALL kinds of customers. Used clothing shouldn't be...
Read morePrices are ridiculous. They're now officially in the same price scheming category as Goodwill. Everyday these people literally have furniture and bags of items dropped off on their sidewalk daily and yet their prices do not reflect second hand at all. $249 for a dining set. $14 for a used folding chair that you can buy new for about the same price at Walmart! $60 for a used two drawer nightstand stand. $9-$15 for a used dress. Pots and pans are priced separately from the matching lids they were donated with. I believe that people still shop here just because people like shopping... Period. Unfortunately, It's not a "thrift" store or...
