This is long and I apologize, but please read til the end. I have finally reached the end of this love/hate relationship!! Tonight's dinner, which happens to be new years eve, was a birthday gift for my 77 year old mother-n-law who wanted her favorite, the prime rib. We ordered 3 of the 16oz prime rib dinners. At first, I overlooked that we didnt receive the extra dressing we requested. I also overlooked that our main course was brought out before we could get ¼ the way through our salads, causing us to have to hold our salad bowls above the table in order to eat them. I overlooked that we asked for rolls and butter that never came. I overlooked that I requested cinnamon butter with my sweet potato that never came. But what I can not overlook is the steaks that we were presented with. The size of the steaks is not the problem as I understand that steaks shrink 25% when cooked. But what I dont get is how they can serve a customer a cooked prime rib, one of the most expensive cuts on the menu, and ⅓ of it be unedible FAT! In all, these 3 prime ribs had a combined weight of over 13 OUNCES OF UNEDIBLE FAT, as you can see in the picture. That is ALL FAT!! An entire steak's weight in FAT!! And remember, this is the amount of fat AFTER they were cooked. When we spoke to the manager, quietly btw, he was an ass. His manner was hostile. His response was and I quote, " we will cut off more of the fat next time". He had no intentions of fixing the problem because he didn't care. He never even offered an apology. He was noticably pissed that we asked to speak to him. I had to ask that he make this right, so he took $15 off our bill. Of the 48 ounces of steak we ordered, we had a total of 23 ounces of edible meat between 3 steaks that cost us $75 after his generous refund, making these steaks cost $52 a pound. But wait...it gets better!! 3 minutes and 5 bites into my steak, our waitress brought us our ticket AND 3 to go boxes. Talk about suttle!! Everyone around us had been there longer than us but they didnt get to go boxes just minutes into their meal. She never returned to refill our drinks or to ask if we needed anything, although she walked past us 7 times. It was made very clear that they wanted us to go. In 5 weeks we have been there 3 times and spent $360. They got my last cent tonight. Needless to say, my mother-n-laws birthday celebration was ruined. You could call us petty I suppose, but when I order a steak, I'd like to get one that has more meat than fat. Id also like to enjoy the meal without a side of to-go boxes garnished with the bill! I am fully aware that I mean nothing to this resturant and the money I have spent there is mere pennies in the grand scheme of things, but customer service needs to be resurrected. Decent food, edible food, should be the constant and not...
Read moreI took my mom here Wednesday. Extremely disappointing. When we got there we were told by one of several employees gathered at the front entrance that the wait would be 15-20 minutes to be seated so I requested a soda while we wait, I was turned down with no regard. We waited & more people started coming in & more employees gathered up front. While waiting & getting to our seats it was impossible to follow the 6' minimum distance. When we were seated with the only thing being said to us as we were seated, was what would we like to drink so we ordered drinks. They brought the drinks without another word. While we were waiting for more service (mom already knew what she wanted to order), a couple was seated across from us at an angle (CDC quidelines met by only using only certain tables) and the waitress went on to explain to them how the menu worked and was very helpful to them. Mom & I were still waiting for a menu. I over heard the waitress tell them the only menu was on their phone so I told my mom what she was saying to them. While I was trying to explain to my mom what I was hearing, the waitress finished up with them so I asked her about the menu & she said we would have to point the camera at the QR code posted on the wall & it would pull up the menu and took off before we had time to say anything to her. When she came back & had given the other party their drinks I wanted to let her know we knew what we wanted to order without seeing the menu but she interrupted me before I could finish to tell me that she ONLY wanted to know if we had figured out the menu as she walked away. Extremely rude yet again. It was my last straw. We had been there almost 45 minutes by that time so mom & I decided to go eat elsewhere. As we were leaving , the crowd of employees at the reception area seemed to have grown even larger & one walked right into me & almost knocked me down. Besides being rude & never getting fed, They weren't following CDC Guidelines for social distancing except spacing out were they sat people and making people use QR code for menu instead of disposable paper menus. Texas RoadHouse has always been my favorite chain steak house until this extremely...
Read moreWe waited 1.5 hours for a table, which was only a little longer than expected. We were told initially it would be about an hour wait. At the hour we asked for an update and were told 10-15 more min, 15min after that we were told 5-10min. We then were told it was taking so long because they were waiting on a 5top table. We only had 4 adults and a baby, who has always been sat at the end of the table in a high chair. When I finally told them we don’t need 5 chairs, we need 4 and a high chair, they FINALLY sat us at a dirty table but they brought us an extra regular chair first instead of a high chair. We were not given silverware until we asked and two of our 4 plates had dried cheese on them. When our waiter finally arrived he was wearing sunglasses, inside a dimly lit restaurant at night, a narrow brimmed cowboy hat, a matching cotton shirt and short set that had blue palm trees on a white background, and sandals with black socks. He did not look at us when taking our order and we each had to repeat ourselves sever times, louder each time. But when he turned away from the table and I whispered to my husband that he should take those sunglasses off, he wiped his head around and said angrily “excuse me what did you say?”, so he obviously could hear us the whole time. It took over 30minutes for our drinks to arrive and some of our food had arrived before our drinks. The food that had arrived was food we specifically asked to be sent out with the meal, not before the meal. We had to asked two different waitresses if we could get our drinks. When he finally brought them he grabbed each cup by the rim to hand to us, that’s not sanitary. When I asked for straws, he handed me a huge handful and said “I’m very busy.” So I said “yes, I know, and we are part of your busy as we are your table.” And he threw his hands up in the air and said “I’m done.” My husband then went and talked to a manager and they told him he would be taken off the floor, however he was still serving the tables around us. Over all almost every person we encountered was rude and unprofessional and we ultimately left the restaurant without having the dinner we had been looking...
