5-8-2025 —— UPDATE My wife and I took my mom here for a early Mother’s Day. They had the salad bar and I had a hamburger They enjoyed theirs and mine was great. We spoke with the CHEF. I told him that I was the one that had written the review about the strawberry dressing separating. He remembered emailing me back about it. He said that the oil he used must have changed. He too noticed it was not right. He made my last purchase of the dressing right Now it’s 5-10 and we had it on our salads. MAN WAS IT GOOD!!!!! My wife believes there should be a new food group called CHIPS. I kinda agree. I think this STRAWBERRY DRESSING should be its OWN FOOD GROUP!!!! I wonder if I could use it a mix drink of some type lol. Anyway, I can’t recommend this dressing enough. Never eaten here so I can't speak for the food...BUT.....the strawberry salad dressing....OMG!! it's worth driving from Lufkin to buy a quart or two. 7-25-2024 Stopped by to get some more dressing and ate lunch there. Ended up getting the all you call eat salad bar. Salad was good but I should have just had the two soups. One was a portobello mushroom and the other a green chile with sweet bell peppers. Dang talking about good. 10-18-24… stopped in to get some of that amazing strawberry salad dressing. Got home and it tasted a little different. Several nights later we had some more, still a little odd tasting. Prior to putting the dressing on I stirred it up. Taste still not right. After maybe 15 minutes of eating I looked at the dressing it had already separated back to what it looked liked when it came out of the fridge Think I wasted my money on this batch. UPDATE FROM MY 1ST REVIEW OF POTPOURRI HOUSE FROM 5 YEARS AGO... We were so excited to come back to Tyler for a visit and find that The Potpourri House was open. It had been updated and made more trendy, and although we missed the pretty water fountain inside the eating area (the sound of the fountain ⛲️ was calming) we liked the new updates. I had the portobello mushroom soup, Strawberry salad and chicken salad sandwich trio which was absolutely 😋! The soup had lots of mushrooms and had a great flavor. My daughter had the French dip sandwich and fries. The sandwich was piled high with tender meat and served with au joux to dip it in. We had the spiced tea again and although it seemed a little sweeter than last time, I simply asked our nice waitress to put a bit of regular unsweetened tea in with the spiced tea and it was perfect. After lunch, we of course went to walk around the beautiful shop. The ladies were very friendly and it was fun seeing all the colorful earrings, dresses, etc. This is one of our favorite places in Tyler. 1st REVIEW FROM 5 YEARS AGO... The spiced tea was absolutely delicious and the staff was friendly. The store was adorable with a plethora of wonderful gift items.

Potpourri, aptly named. A great array of scents and tastes for most any palate. Service was EXCELLENT, friendly, knowledgeable, and definitely on their game in a polite and authentic manner. Well maintained interiors and clean as a whistle. The restaurant is also well run and managed, from what I could see. Menu is thoughtfully crafted and the kitchen serves it up! GREAT salad/soup bar with a fantastic array of choice salads to choose from. Loved the hydroponic herb garden, as well as the art and furnishings. Nice meeting rooms, should one have a special event. I witnessed two VERY large tables amidst a brisk Saturday afternoon business, and all hands on deck had the two large groups and everyone else taken care of promptly w little wait on anything. If you're in Tyler, treat yourself to a super dining experience. I would be shocked if Potpourri didn't knock your socks off. UPDATE: I have been to this restaurant several times after posting this... The Potpourri House continues to impress, no matter what I order!

In the past 2 years, I have been supportive of the Potpourri House - encouraging friends to come for lunch after bowling. Today’s really bad experience now makes me hesitant to recommend lunch there again. We waited over 45 minutes to have our orders taken - friends at the table that selected salad bar just went ahead and got their orders and were 1/2 finished with eating by the time our order was taken. When we asked repeatedly about status of our meals … they finally brought it out - wrong orders - which we accepted out of desperation. The soups were bad, they brought wrong beverages, and the salads were incorrect. Then we waited another +45 minutes for the tickets… one lady’s ticket was missing … so the waitress comped it. Others were randomly billed for the original price or discounted prices - instead of the waitress apologizing over and over, the manager should have stepped in to comp all meals. When I got to my car and thought about what had just happened, I called in to speak to the manager. I explained that I was calling to ensure management was aware and had the opportunity to correct their service issues. Wes came to the phone, and apologized saying that he was “unaware” of what had occurred and would address it immediately with staff. After hearing this “response” I decided to write a review. The fact is that the manager was there on the floor and was grossly negligent it he did not see what we were going thru seated at the table by the entry. In fact all of the waiters were openly discussing the situation as were sat there stranded until our credit cards were finally returned. So disappointed with the service, food and lack of...

Really want to like this place, as it's a very novel idea to combine a boutique, dessert offering section and restaurant all in one.

Loved the Strawberry Salad, which was such a wonderful surprise with the assorted almond slivers, baby spinach and strawberry vinaigrette. Definitely a star offering.

Herb Chicken was wonderfully flavored, tender and juicy; mashed potatos excellent with balanced herb seasoning. Issue was when I asked about the green beans and they said they put in pork bacon, I asked for a different side: checking online now, I see other available sides (for the same price, no less) were chips, french fries, sweet potato fries, chips, mashed potatos, mixed vegetables, broccoli florets...and yet I was told "no substitution" would be made when I told them I get sick from pork and needed something different? I asked 3 different people: the first server said "well, we wouldn't want you to get sick," but the girl that was told to find out never did. I asked her again and asked a different girl--so in total, 3 people--then I finally got the above reply. You know what? An even swap of sides loses the place nothing and caring about the patron's health/goodwill is always a very smart idea. However, to categorically say "there will be no substitutions" (for health reasons/allergies) is definitely saying "we could care less." Uh....no.

This is probably a good place to go if you have no food allergies or ones that wouldn't be an issue here. The attitude distresses me most, and mostly on that account I would say avoid the place, since it is unwilling to be reasonable with something that actually requires no effort (which disturbs...
