Update 2024: had the usuals like garlic bread, margarita pizza and happy hour cocktail. We took the bruschetta this time. It tasted fine. The tomato on the bruschetta was 1 big slice. So when you take a bite it won't cut the way you want and it turns out to be a mess because it will pull the rest of the tomato as well. 2023 review: This is our usual go to place when we get there for a movie at Century. I like their margarita pizza. We took the personal size. It was good for 2 people if you are trying out other things on the menu. The garlic bread went well with the pizza. So did the salad. The portion size of the salad was small. The strawberry based cocktail i had ordered was also great. There wasn't any service as such. We ordered via the qr code on the table. The food was served and then there was no interaction any more with the staff except when i needed to call for a cleaner plate. After paying the bill I really started wondering, why did i even tip and who did i even tip where there was no recommendation, additional interaction with any server!! Having said that, we enjoy the food here and would definitely come back again.

Review for Vegetarians Title: A Mixed Experience at Tomatino in Union Landing I recently dined at Tomatino in Union Landing and had a somewhat mixed experience. The Bruschetta and Mixta Salad were definite highlights, impressing with their fresh flavors and vibrant presentation. The Minestrone soup also stood out, offering a comforting and well-seasoned option. On the flip side, the Alfredo pasta failed to meet expectations. Its taste fell flat and left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the garlic rolls were marred by an excessive amount of salt, making them a bit overpowering for my liking. Despite these culinary hiccups, the overall service was commendable. The staff was attentive and accommodating throughout the meal, enhancing the dining experience. In conclusion, while the dishes had their ups and downs, the good service balanced the equation, resulting in an okayish dining experience at Tomatino in Union Landing.

This review is for catering. For catering, you place an order with Mara through the catering number. Mara is incredibly helpful. She walked me through options and ways to customize our order for our workplace lunch. We have ordered twice now and have enjoyed our food both times. They are quickly becoming a favorite at Pella! Suzanne, the general manager at the Union City location, personally brought and set up our food. The first time we ordered, we received less sauce than expected per my conversation/order with Mara. Suzanne drove all the way back to the restaurant and brought back extra. The second time we ordered, she came prepared with extra for us. The food is delicious, but it definitely requires being reheated. That is truly my only complaint. The service is top notch and the food is delicious. The second order, we asked for another option for bread and ordered fresh loaves that were amazing. We highly recommend it along with the chicken marsala and ALL the sauces to mix along with your noodles. Creamy pesto and alfredo are our favorites here, but the marina sauce is good mixed with both of them. Try it!

We find that when we order catering, we tend to need customizations. Some restaurants can get frustrated with this. Mara was happy to help with customizations and wanted us to get exactly what we needed. The service here is really the reason I felt compelled to write this review. Thank you, Mara...

They have moved to all touchless ordering and payment. There are servers there to attend to you but not take your order. Service was good and efficient.

older post: An effect of ordering take out is that I think restaurants know that you are generally going home (or wherever) and typically will not go all of the way back if the order is wrong. Generally this location is pretty good for dine in, however we ordered take out and it was less that stellar. First off, there is a reduction in available items from what has always been on the menu. Possibly due to a reduction in prep staff (since the state has made no incentive for people to get off unemployment due to COVID; but I digress). Garlic rolls were dry, bruschetta is supposed to be served on a toasted baguette slice, not just a piece of bread. Ordered a Piadine, which came in 2 boxes (1 for the flat bread and other of the rest of the toppings) which I kind of understand as to not have the bread get soggy, but now I have a build your own meal (which I guess goes back to the lack of prep staff, just throw in a flat bread with a bunch of salad ingrediencies and let the customer figure it out. If you are gonna charge me that much, make the...

Disappointing Experience - Poor Service I'm extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Tomatina in Union City. After having a decent experience ordering through DoorDash, I thought I'd give dining in a try. Unfortunately, the service was horrible!

Upon arrival, my husband and I waited at the front for 10 minutes without being greeted, despite multiple employees standing nearby chatting. The restaurant was nearly empty, so it wasn't busy. Eventually, we were seated, but only because I asked "do we seat ourselves?"

Our waitress was unfriendly and had an attitude, making us feel unwelcome. We sat for another 10 minutes without being offered drinks or having our order taken. A total of 30 minutes passed without any service.

Frustrated, we decided to leave. When I informed the bartender, they simply shrugged and said "okay" - no apology, no concern.

For a restaurant that seemingly had no issue with staff availability, the lack of attention and poor attitude was staggering.

Unless Tomatina addresses their service issues, I wouldn't recommend dining in.

I recommend Backyard Bayou across the street. We walked in and was immediately greeted. Food was great, and the service...
