Daon Korean Cuisine — Restaurant in Union City

I used to order here often but today I decided not to order anymore. I was really disappointed with their customer service. The only part that I like of this Korean restaurant is that the food is delicious. If you want to just try, go ahead. However I can’t recommend it to any of my friends because the portion of food is not enough, the side dishes are horrible. I’ve never seen any Korean restaurants offer this amount of the side dishes (반찬). I’m attaching the photos of them. These are what I got when I opened the delivery bag today. It just looks like a leftover which seems re-used. Hopefully they didn’t do it. The packaging was bad. The whole soup was leaking all over the plastic bag. I wish they do a better business with better services (such as offering enough amount of side dishes, just like what all the other Korean restaurants in NJ do, improving their package). The uber delivery guy didn’t come (it seems like he delivered mine to a wrong place) so I reordered. When I called them, nobody picked up the phone. I’m just frustrated with everything today. If you want to try a real Korean food, find somewhere else in Fort Lee or Palisades Park area. If this place improves, they could be more successful in their business with more customers, but I will never...

I don't normally write reviews but since DAON Korean Cuisine is a newcomer to Union City and the food I just had was incredible - I want to make sure to give them a shoutout and hopefully put some people on. I ordered the Spicy Pork Jaeyook Ssam and Tteokbokki. Both were amazing - nice and spicy, the lettuce and banchan were fresh and crispy. I've never been a huge fan of fish cakes and was worried the Tteokbokki would taste fishy but it was complex and spicy. They also sent along a small side dish of a delicious potato salad with super crunchy apples. Really appreciated how quick the food came and how it all tasted homemade. Portions of food were generous for reasonable prices - shared with my partner and still have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Excited to have Korean takeout in Union City!

Its a ghost kitchen with lockers when you show up, not a single customer service rep to help you figure out the system. I placed my order online directly from their site and there were ZERO instructions in the email on how to pickup my order. I typed my name, order number, everything and nothing let me pick it up my food. I called the support number multiple times with no answer. Ultimately had to reach out a request a refund because i spent 10 minutes just trying to figure out how to pick up an order to no avail. What a frustrating experience I wont be...
