Normally, I would wait until after my visit has concluded to post a review. However, I don't want what I experienced with Customer Service to taint the purpose of why I traveled to this area in the first place.
Brief backstory: I have watched wrestling (now referred to as Sports Entertainment) ever since I was a kid. One of my main aspirations (I don't like the term bucket list) was to attend the top premium live events I grew up watching. One said event (Summer Slam) is at Met Life Stadium this weekend. I booked my tickets and this hotel back in early June. The method of payment I used for the hotel is Buy Now, Pay Later, which is given as an option on their website. I booked the reservation directly with this hotel, not a third-party provider. Given, it is not as close as some of the other hotels but the price was more affordable in comparison to other places in this area.
When I arrived to check in, the lady at customer service demanded a physical card from me. Even when I presented the paperwork from the funding source, she kept going on and on about how the hotel had been scammed by people paying with virtual cards, then canceling the reservation. This has nothing to do with me but she kept repeating this and wouldn't let me check in. She insisted the hotel did not take the Flex Pay option, even though my paperwork clearly says their website and email address. I decided to call the BLPL people on the phone and was on hold. While I was hold, a man came out and asked if I was being helped. I told him that she would not let me check-in and that I was waiting for a representative, so they can convince her to let me check-in. Once he saw my paperwork, he immediately knew what I was talking about and even pointed in the notes that the reservation was paid for.
She did not give other people checking in as much of a hard time with their questions. A few of those people were coming to attend the same event as me. Although she did apologize, I am disappointed, and the insensitive interrogation was extremely hurtful.
It made me feel as if I was being judged based on other experiences she stated the hotel went through. If she was aware of the organization I work for, her tune would have been different, but I never lead with that. I am not that type of person, and I would never bring dishonor to my late grandparents by scamming anyone or any organization financially.
Although there are nice touches to this space (flooring, outlets, and color scheme), the poor customer service that took twenty minutes to sort out soured my experience. I am thankful the guy (who I assumed was the manager) came to straight everything out ... otherwise, he would have missed out on an over $600 booking. The customer service representative should know about all methods of payment and not automatically give off the air of judgment or prejudice.
Needless to say, I won't be staying at this particular hotel again, but I will remain open to other Days Hotels and other hotels under the...

Read moreI give them props on owning a hotel business but their customer satisfaction is greedy. I wanted to check-out at 12pm instead of 11am (at least give me courtesy of 15 minutes) The manager on duty was sitting in the front desk quickly interrupted responding it will be $50 dollars for one hour and explained to me they pay a lot of commission to advertise and to book a reservation with them directly to their website. I only booked it wherever I found online and they give me the hotel and location of it (third party) It’s 10:59am, 1 minute till 11am and half hour after talking to them. A rude man, maintenance guy probably, knocks on the door insisting me to get out multiple times “it’s check out”, I frightening responded I’m packing my luggage I’m leaving, he waited outside silently—then gave up and took an elevator downstairs. I leave the room, head to the front desk and the manager on duty was just smiling at us. She’s sitting in the front desk. My boyfriend told her “she’s a little mad because of the rude employee banging on the door insisting us to get out” and she just happened to smirk and defend the employee and attempting to makes us sound delusional and stupid. I explained that his tone was very rude and impacted us to feel like we needed to “get out” immediately; but all she questioned was if he said the words ‘get out’ and not at all understanding what a rude and inappropriate attitude and TONE this man was. When I finally saw she wasn’t trying to understand me, I told her the truth about her hotel and now I’m going to tell all you, Days Hotel by Wyndham in North Bergen Tonnelle Avenue, the whole infrastructure is very cheap. Thin sheets of wall, dirty cum towels in the room, The minute you step inside the lobby it’s very empty and unwelcoming, you enter the elevator and all you can smell is cigarettes. When you lay on the bed, you can tell it’s a 20 year old mattress, I even checked the tag to see if I was right. You can hear the creak and bathroom flushes not only from upstairs but from all the rooms on the side, everything is very dusty the minute you walk in and you can tell that they didn’t really try. If it wasn’t for the big 60” screen TV and the electric fireplace they put in, it would resemble a motel. VERY CHEAP AND DIRTY. I would’ve overlooked all of this and most likely forgotten it, but than the customer service was just awful. Go spend your money...
