I've eaten here about five times, and most of the time, I've had good experiences. However, yesterday was not one of those times. My daughter picked up food to go because I was sick and didn't want to go out. I got two burritos so I would have food for today and not have to worry about going out again.
When my daughter arrived, the food was cold—not just lukewarm, but cold. It's only a 10-minute drive from the restaurant to my house, so while it's possible the food cooled down a bit, it shouldn't have been that cold, especially when wrapped in tinfoil and in a bag with other hot items in a warm car. I used my digital thermometer to check the temperature of the unopened burrito, and it was 85 degrees in the center.
My daughter called the restaurant to inform them, and the employee said, "If you bring it back, we can heat it up for you." That's not the point—we have a microwave, too. Serving hot food at that temperature is unsafe, especially with pork, which was in my burrito. The employee said he would call the manager, and allegedly did, but when he got back on the phone, all he could say was, "Well, it was hot when it was here."
So based on this experience it's unlikely that I'll...
Read moreI absolutely love hot heads but what happened to me and my family 1-4-23 was not acceptable. We come in there frequently, but most of the time we come in the afternoon. We show up to the state street location at exactly 5:30, there is zero food, no chicken, no beef, no steak and every plastic container behind the counter was just about empty. The guy waiting on us said it would be a few minutes before he could get our order because their wasn't any meat ready, he put a frying pan full of raw meat on the burners to cook, we stood there and waited for 10 mins or so and I can still see the frying pan extremely full of steak with most of the top of the pan still Raw. We walked out, I've never done that before. But then again I've never went into a restaurant where they were out of food, there were 5 other walk in customers behind us as well, waiting to give their order, and it seemed that night the hot heads night crew were only concerned with door...
Read moreYeah definitely won't be going back! This was my first time EVER at a Hotheads and I was super excited but overall? The experience was just bad. Sad cause taste wise? The food wasn't too bad. But for an almost $20 burrito to be the size of the palm of my hand and smashed lacking half the stuff on there I asked for and paid EXTRA for? Yeah absolutely not. And the customer service was not any more redeeming. The staff wouldn't say not two words to me, not a hello or goodbye or even to point me towards the pickup counter since I have again never been there before. They just stared and then ignored. Sad cause I was pretty excited but I think I'll take my business elsewhere. Don't go here if you actually want a bang...
