I went there for dinner the other day and saw an unoccupied host stand. I stood there not knowing what to do because the sign said “wait for hostess to seat you.” Another sign said “please be patient we’re understaffed.” After being tired of waiting for 5 minutes for a hostess that never came, I went to the bar which was filled with people.
Their understaffing problem became completely visible as they had only 1 bartender and only 1 maybe 2 food runners for a room full to the brim with people. I sat that the bar and the bartender took my order. She was very short and rude but honestly at that point I wasn’t blaming her and didn’t think that was normal, anybody would be if they had to deal with at least 30 customers pretty much alone.
I ordered a burger just meat and bun, fries, fried pickle chips, and a Dr. pepper. The burger came out without a bun and when I said they’d gotten the order wrong, the bartender accused me of playing a prank and saying I was messing with them. No apology after she realized I wasn’t lying. That’s how I knew she wasn’t just exasperated from dealing with all these customers alone.
After giving me the correct burger, the patty reminded me of Bob Evans or of the cosmic rays restaurant at Disney world, a flavorless thin precooked way overcooked patty. The fries and pickle chips were good nothing special. The burger bun was huge and way too big for the burger that was no thicker than about 3 nickels, the quarter pounders at McDonald’s are larger and these burgers are advertised as 1/3rd.
They had the audacity to charge 18 dollars for that. Will...
Read moreHeard from several people this place had great wings, so today wife and I decided to give it a try. Despite the rather unassuming ambience, the service was friendly and quick. Waitress was knowledgeable of the dishes, and made helpful suggestions which led us to try out their wonderful Cadillac Parmesan Bone-in Wings. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it because it looked so delicious I just couldn't stop eating them to take a picture. I barely talked to my wife so busy I was. The photo included is from the Appetizer Platter, which features fried everything: cheese sticks, balls, onion rings, and their pepperoni roll. If you are there with your company, you will not need the Platter: the 12 wing order size is enough to fill a grown man. The wings are fried to perfection, and the Cadillac sauce just delicious. Get just the wings and you will be stuffed. There's a healthy option of 9 wings and a side for $10, and I think that's a good idea for next time, unless you go for just the wings, then get the 12 wing. Feeling like dying happy? Get the...
Read moreI would give this place 5 stars, for if they had more staff and better interior, I'd be more generous.
However, I did give 4 stars, because the food quality made up for all of it.
To elaborate, it was so busy last night, that I asked for a high chair on multiple occasions, then eventually got up and had to get one on my own.
During dining service, it was very rare to get a drink refill and have any sort of chance to ask a question from my server, but it is reasonable to say again that they seem to be understaffed and need more employees.
The interior is meh; it felt as if I was sat inside a hospital cafeteria per se, but it wasn't dirty or sticky at least.
The food was AMAZING. It was the quality of a home-cooked meal. I was most impressed by the quality of their ravioli, especially. The ravioli seemed freshly stuffed with ricatta and never frozen. Their fries are also fresh and their broiled lamb tasted exactly like steak tips.
My fiancé has already asked to go back for...
