Two hours here waiting to end up taking my meal to go! Arrived at 7:15 didn't leave until 9:30 due to horrible service. Was here last week to grab a quick bite before finishing up Christmas shopping at Toys R Us but the host and waiter made this the Worst experience Ever!!!! One couple walked in ahead of me and were seated within mins, host returned and almost insisted I sit at the bar since I was alone and would receive the "same" service. I suggested a table and she left to clean one. 10 mins and 5 couples later she return and ask who's next. I tell her I was I was waiting for my table to be cleaned she says I know I cleaned it but I need to put everyone in order here first. 5mins later I'm seated after 2 couples who came after me are.
My waiter is at the register directly across from my table 10 mins later he turns around to greet me and take order. I ordered meal and drink with an add on for my meal. Drink comes 10 mins later food 20mins after the drink. Steak was well done instead of med well, and I didn't like the topping. I asked could they return it with a different topping only to be brought the same meal 30mins later after having to ask the waiter where was my food. Side order/add on of shrimp come while waiting I eat those while waiting for my meal which didn't come for another 20 mins later. Steak is a different steak but once again well done and over cooked. I tell the waiter only to find out he forgot to tell them med well when entering my order. Pissed off and over the entire experience I ask for a to go container and check. 10 mins later receive both and LITERALLY have to stop the waiter from walking away and just pay to avoid another 10/20/30 min wait.
I almost walked out twice had to have the host find my waiter twice, and started to call the manager several times. I only didn't speak to the trying to be nice saying it's the holidays don't cost him his job. But I'm livid with myself that I paid for that type of service and food. It was not busy and I only saw my waiter working 2 other tables so I'm amazed at how laxed and unconcerned he was. Do Not Plan to EVER Come...
Read moreI should of been keen on the Red Flags when we were being escorted to our table and we passed a couple demanding to see a waiter as evidently none had approached them. We were fortunate in that aspect as our waitress greeted us within the customary 2-3 minutes. My wife and I both appreciated her Pretty and Welcoming Smile hence I made it a point to tell her. Guess she Couldn't appreciate our compliment as it was Downhill from that point on. My wife ordered a Mango lemonade and I a Angry Orchard on draft, to my misfortune the waitress wasn't aware of their draft selection and in turn just gave me the menu. Okay at this point and I requested a Winter Samuel Adams, 15 Minutes Later we get our drinks and I Definitely Did Not get my Beer. Still Chill, but then 5 minutes later I get my appetizer (hot wings) and they were served cold on a hot plate. That was enough for me to request the waitress/manager. The Manager pleasant as can be (Stephanie) attempted to make things right and in fact concluded that the Samuel Adams was the bottom of the pit and completely had lost taste and flavor. Upon asking for our check we had to play the waiting game again until my wife concluded that we can pay on line and so we did and as we were heading out our rather Unpleasant (Leilanie) Insisted that I Had to Sign a check, although it had already been closed on line. Her persistence prompt me to get Stephanie back and the end game was that Stephanie caught herself Apologizing once again and asking her waitress to shut up but my dear waitress insisted that she had to prove her point. May I add that At No given point had I asked for anything comp and while I Didn't pay for the Cold Wings and the Bad Samuel Adams I gracefully paid for everything else but Unfortunately our Young Waitress has to Realize that a Gratuity is a Service that is earned and Not one based on Bad to Poor service and that Not even a Pretty Welcoming Smile is enough to constitute for a Well deserved tip. I Guess this young lady has lots to learn. ...
Read moreMy return to Applebees was for the purpose of treating my mother for Mother's Day. We went on Friday so we could beat the holiday rush. Upon entering, the place is so dark you can't read the menus. I had to hold up my cellphone light to the menu so my mother could read it. We were left with the impression that Applebees makes its patrons eat in the dark so they CAN'T see the subpar food they serve you! The Pina Coladas both my mother & I ordered had NO CREAM WHATSOEVER, JUST A TABLESPOON OF LIQUOR, CHEAP FLAVORING & MAJORITY CRUSHED ICE!! THE DRINKS WEREN'T OPAGUE, DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF ICE IT WAS TRANSLUSCENT & WATERED DOWN! (see pic) Beef Nachos had a teaspoon of meat throughout, this white wet liquid poured on instead of real cheese throughout! No seasoning or flavor whatsoever. The Wonton Tacos had an unidentifiable flavoring and tiny sized chicken pieces that looked and tasted artificial like chickpeas. My mother had this dish before at another location and gasped because it wasn't remotely close in flavor or looks to what she came to love! She said she was eating but couldn't identify what it was other than "CRUNCH" (see pic) I tasted it and I agree, no flavor, the plate looked like scraps! Since mom hadn't eaten all day & was famished, she ate the wontons, I tasted one. So I had no problem paying for this dish since we ate it even though it wasn't good.
The manager Penelope remade the drinks & appetizer, which was NO better after being remade. Still watered down drinks, small meat added to nachos. We skipped main courses. Nobody wants to have to send food back or complain about subpar food, but in this current climate where money is tight for everyone & eating out is a SPECIAL EXPENSIVE EXPERIENCE, this Applebees needs to improve the food & food preparation!! Mother's Day dinner was ruined! 2 watery drinks, 2 tasteless appetizers = $60 mistake!
I do not recommend...
