Iâve given this place two chances, and both times Iâve left feeling disappointed and unwelcome. During my first visit, I came with a friend; for context, we are both Black Muslim women. While we were seated and served quickly, we were handed the bill just as we began eating, which felt like a signal to hurry and finish. This wasnât near the end of our meal but right after we received our food.
Despite that experience, we decided to give the place another chance today, 11/19/2024, hoping for a better outcome. Unfortunately, things werenât any better. When we arrived, we stood at the register waiting to be attended to. However, Roger, the manager, made eye contact with two women who arrived after us and chose to serve them first, asking us to wait as though we were less important, even though we had been there first.
As two college students just looking for a good, healthy breakfast near our university, this treatment was extremely discouraging. To make matters worse, throughout our meal, Roger lingered around our table, making us feel unwelcome, as if the space wasnât meant for us. His behavior was rude and uncomfortable, leaving us with a negative impression of this establishment.
Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and valued in a space theyâre paying to be in. This...
Read moreThis is one of the best places to have breakfast in UA. It's also one of the only places, so that isn't really saying a lot. This is somewhere I go for convenience and because the food is somewhere between ok and good. It's a little bit pricey, but the servings are pretty large. The best thing I've had here is their juice, although I have a friend that swears by the avocado toast. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits last time I went, and I did not enjoy it. It was pretty flavorless (and colorless) and the texture of both the biscuits and the gravy made me feel sick. I felt bad creating so much food waste, but no way was I bringing that home. On the other hand, I had their chocolate chip pancakes a different time, and those were delicious. They were thick, fluffy, sweet but not too sweet, and came with standard syrup and butter. And it was the right amount to take home a little snack. The environment suggests farm modern, but I'm not sure how "farm to table" the food is. I don't recall reading that anything is organic. All in all, a good place to eat, but...
Read moreI ordered the seasonal burrito, and I have a lot of allergies, so I requested a lot of changes. It wasnât changes that are hard, just a lot of things that needed to be left off. When it came, there were things they didnât take off, so she had them make it again. 10 min later, the server brought it out and I cut it up, and noticed there was no chorizo, the equivalent of about a tsp. The manager stopped over and I explained the problems, and she said they will remake it, I told her I donât have time to wait and that a side of chorizo will be fine. She had the nerve to tell me I was being rude! Really? What? She gave me a big huff and rolled her eyes and walked away. You guys messed up my order, twice, and you tell me lies to my face. I am the customer, and you completely had a problem with me eating something that I am paying and requesting it come the way I want it. Who is being rude? I have a reason to be upset, what is...
