My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner on a weekday. We were the only dine-in guests, but at least a couple of carryout orders came and went while we dined. We ordered vegetable samosas, shrimp curry, aloo gobhi mutter, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. While we waited, our friendly and attentive server offered us complimentary pappadam with hari and tamarind chutneys, all of which tasted freshly made. The mango lassi was smooth and fragrant, and a deliciously refreshing palate cleanser. The samosas were the best I've ever had: plump with potato-and-pea filling, crisp but not heavy or greasy, and just the right level of seasoning and spice. My aloo entree was beautifully presented, with slivers of ginger and other fresh veg as garnish. The flavors and accompanying rice were perfect, and the toasty soft naan paired well. On the downside, the place's atmosphere just feels unfinished. Although the space is open and clean, it doesn't have any personality, the lighting has a bit of an industrial effect, and the TVs are a detraction (as they are everywhere except a sports bar, dangit!). Perhaps they're relying most on those carryout orders? But with a location in a highly walkable area, I do hope the restaurant's interior majorly improves. Until then, we'll definitely visit again just...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Tikka Masala Indian Grill and Bar, and I can confidently say it was a great experience. I have to say I was not a huge fan of Indian food, but my friends picked the restaurant, and what a good choice. The staff was attentive, efficient, and polite. Now the food: absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with flavor and clearly made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. We selected medium on the heat scale, and it was just the right degree of heat. We started with the vegetable samosas, which were perfectly crisp on the outside and packed with a savory spiced filling. The aloo chole was hearty and not overly spicy. The lamb korma was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spice and heat. The baigan bharta with lamb chops on the side was savory, with flavors stacked but easily discernible, and the lamb chops were fork-tender, braised in a light curry sauce, making them delicious. The garlic naan bread was warm and pillowy with a light crispness. What truly stood out was the balance of spices-bold and vibrant without being overpowering. The Gajar Ka Halwa was outstanding, warm, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. It is a definite must-have. The menu has many choices to suit any taste, with...
Read moreA delightful experience and a well-welcomed Indian buffet in upper Arlington. This buffet has exceptional value and is a fantastic assortment of some of the best Indian food in the area. I so missed having a nearby buffet and was so happy to see this place.
The food is well prepared. The restaurant is clean and the service is very nice and attentive. They were very prompt in removing plates and it was a great place to go with my wife. It also makes a great place to go for a business lunch. This is of the best business lunch Indian buffets in Upper Arlington. The decor is very simple and they might still be working on it but it is very clean so I do appreciate it overall.
During peak lunch hours the nearby parking lot can get full, but there's parking not too far. That's easy to find.
The booths are very comfortable and I really like their choices for the chairs as well that you sit in that are comfortable. The tikka masala is an excellent dish, as are many of the others and be sure to get some rice pudding as it is a wonderful dessert. The lamb Curry was the standout star of the...
