Waffle House — Restaurant in Upper Grand Lagoon

Y'all. This waffle House is closer to my house than another one but we usually go to the other one and I am reminded why after tonight's visit. The restaurant was not busy but half of the service staff was on their phones and the only cook at the place was new. They sent my son out a bowl of grits with bacon on top that had been hand torn and I have no idea why because all my son ordered was an order of crispy bacon with a side of cheese grits in a bowl. After we got our food my son who was on the other side of the table from me was kind enough to point out the dead bugs in the filth underneath the cabinets. There are waitresses as you can see standing directly over that dead bug and had walked by looking at it over and over again and did nothing about it. If you look underneath the bar you can see that it is completely filthy. We were in here at 8:30 at night, they had not been busy for a very long time and neither had any cleaning been done. Do not go here. There are other waffle houses within distance that are cleaner and...

Seemed like a typical wh,it was busy but we were able to walk in, look around and sit down in a booth. Now is when it gets different. It took approximately 5 minutes before we were approached, that all went well, we ordered she got our drinks and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Then we realized we didn't have toast and a side of sausage. So we asked about both and awhile later she brought out the toast at which point we asked for the sausage again. We received the sausage just in time to finish the meal. About the meal, it was lukewarm definitely not the typical steaming hot plate we have come to know at wh. While we were waiting our waitress was complaining to another table about how the last table gave her a poor tip...hmmm look inward ... stop blaming others and focus on being your best self. Oh the sausage was hot and she stil received a 5 dollar tip from our 21 dollar breakfast. Go to the waffle omlet house just down the street... you will be glad u did ... see my review for them .... hope u...

The map said it was as busy as it gets. I walked in, found a spot at the bar, said hi to Iggy and she immediately took my order. She gave it to Ashley who called it out loud and clear. It was repeated back and she answered thank you. Amazing communication. I got a bunch of food served within minutes and it came out exactly as ordered. Watching the crew was like watching an orchestrated ballet, every single person dancing around the other with pure awareness, diligently working with a full restaurant. I heard multiple people compliment them as I sat next to the register. I worked the server industry for 10 years and I've never seen a group so professional. I struggle to believe there is another breakfast team that works so well together in Panama City, maybe another Waffle House. On one the Sunday morning before memorial day no less.
