Friendly's — Restaurant in Upper Macungie Township

I have been to friendly s many times in the past but it has been awhile with so many new restaurants and eateries that opened locally , friendly s got pushed to the back burner and forgotten about. That is until I was seeking a simple moist grilled chicken sandwich and something local. There are other places to choose from but I was seeking a simple moist grilled chicken sandwich and with other places the chicken can be dry. I called in an order for pickup and it was fast and the food was fresh and hot. The sandwich was delicious . The chicken was moist and the brioche bun was fresh and warm with customizable toppings and the sandwich comes with your choice of side. We also ordered the chicken tenders appetizer which were delicious and moist with your choice of flavors. Prices are very fair and reasonable and when you compare the experience between fast food drive thru prices and experience to friendlys dine in or take out you get some much more at friendlys , plus they have some amazing desserts to top it off.. I was very pleased with the food and it definitely satisfied my craving completely. The service and staff were wonderful, very kind and accommodating and provided a welcoming feel. They practice safe guidelines and I felt comfortable and safe. Good prices with wonderful food and service and a feeling that takes you back to a simple uncomplicated time. Something we all need. Friendleys resturunt was ok. I think there more known for there ice cream instead of there food. When I use to go way back at a friendleys resturunt thay would put a place Matt down on the table first or it was already there. And i think a glass of water was always given out. Like i said this was i say back in the late 80s or 90s. Also the plates were bigger. And you would get a good portion of fries on your plate if fries came with what you ordered.Seems way back food and things were better. Today some places are shabby and cut back on things. Its not how it use to be. Thay don't give you a lot of French fries no place Matt no glass of water. Plates are not as big. And what I ordered was not all that great. I was fooled by the picture. Lol don't look at the pictures on the menu.Cause sometimes the food is less than what the picture shows you. Lol but to each his own some people love this place and thay don't care how it changed for good or bad. I will come back but might just do the icecream instead Of ordering food. And its also now a young generation world. I only saw young people running friendleys. Its like where are the 40s and 50 year Olds to take your order when seated. Nothing friendly about this location! Ordered online. Went in to pick up my order. Stood there for a bit. Nobody came and inquired if I wanted a table or a pick up.. A young lady with her kid walk in and out of nowhere this old hostess shows up immediately walks over to them and tells me she will be with me shortly despite me being there before them but its fine. She goes to seat them and then comes to me to rudely ask me what I want. I tell her I am there to pick up my order. She seems irritated and I am not sure why. She walks to the back and then comes back and throws my items very rudely on the counter. I didn't say anything took the food, got in my car and drove to another restaurant around the corner where I threw their nasty food, ordered and was treated respectfully. Your staff, particularly the incredibly rude hostess who touched my food make me know I will NOT be coming back there. I would NEVER suggest or recommend this...
