Well, sitting here in the Philly airport after visiting Kooma around 7pm last night. I had the seafood stone pot. Thought about the short ribs but I'm a seafood guy so decided to roll with the seafood pot.
Didn't really think too much of the meal when it arrived, I thought the presentation was decent so I figured it would be good. It came with rice, zucchini, scallops, shrimp, mussels, noodles and lettuce. I bit into something that didn't taste right but figured it was the type of lettuce or noodle they used. My son asked how was it and I told him I'd let him know in the morning depending how my stomach reacted. Well, at 4am and less than 12hrs before our flight back to Texas my stomach let me know something in that pot was bad.
Stomach cramping, diarrhea and throwing up were on the menu. My wife and son had different meals and we shared and app so there's no doubt it came from my seafood pot. It had to be either the shrimp, mussel or noodles. Those are the only things I had different than my family.
I can barely blame the restaurant, I knew what I was tasting wasn't right. I tried to give them the benefit due to the pricing and made the assumption they were on top of their game. I expected our bill to be priced where it was due to the location's rep but I didn't expect to spend almost two hundred large and get freaking food poisoning. Not sure if they'll see this post, care about this post or even respond to it but make no mistake, someone in that kitchen failed at their job and put people's health at risk. Nothing else made me sick because I didn't eat anything that whole day. I literally waited all day to eat there since we heard so much about it.
To end, it was a complete and utter fail on their part. If the "chef" or management isn't changed you can bet the same polices will be in place for it to happen again,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Kooma, and it was an experience I eagerly wish to share. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance promised a memorable meal, and we were not disappointed.
The food was simply delicious, with standout dishes that left a lasting impression on my palate. The rock shrimp was perfectly prepared, offering a sublime balance of flavors and textures, while the sweet potato roll was a revelation, combining ingredients in a way that was both innovative and utterly delightful.
Service at Kooma was top-notch, thanks in large part to our waiter, Mr. Joe. His courtesy and professionalism significantly enhanced our dining experience. He was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our meal proceeded smoothly from start to finish.
Moreover, the supervisor, Ms. Lisa, exemplified the highest standards of hospitality. Her kindness and professionalism shone brightly, making us feel genuinely valued and well-cared for. Her oversight of the dining experience ensured that everything met the highest standards of quality and service.
An unexpected situation arose when I realized I had left my Driverâs License in another bag. Without hesitation, they accepted my Passport ID, demonstrating flexibility and understanding that was greatly appreciated. This gesture was a testament to their customer-first approach, making a significant impression on me.
In summary, my experience at Kooma was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of delicious food, outstanding service from Mr. Joe and Ms. Lisa, and their accommodating nature in handling an ID issue made my visit memorable. I highly recommend Kooma to anyone looking for a dining experience that goes above and beyond in...
Read moreTh staff is bit rude and I was harassed at this restaurant yesterday for not leaving a tip and I was asked why I didnât leave a tip. First I was single person and was given a very unwelcoming vibe at reception and was told their is no table and then lady said yes we have one next to the bar, I never wanted to sit there but I accepted as their was no option provided. I was provided water without even asking if I require ice in water or not, and water had no ice. Anyways, then after the dinner I asked to have a âto go boxâ for my seafood noodles with spicy sauce, I was provided with a paper box. I had to ask again for a plastic container instead due to sauce and gravy inside in my food. I didnât leave a tip and i was followed by my server âLukeâoutside of the restaurant and was stopped outside the main door for not leaving a tip. I thought about giving the tip as I was asked, and added tip on to the receipt. Well then server made plenty of funny faces to me because it was less than 20% and he told me quoted âwe ask 20% as a tip sirâ. It was funny as well as harassing , no restaurant in this world does that. I hope he was employed at least on minimum wages at this restaurant. I didnât observe any server in the restaurant which was of color, all white staff harassing people on tips. I can actually sue this restaurant. The food is over priced too. I regret eating at this place. Do let me know if anyone met a funny server at this restaurant.? I donât recommend this place at all, if you are searching for a good restaurant in the same market place , I recommend Founding Farmers right next to this one at the corner and âHoneygrowâ if you are looking for right priced and healthy...
