Phucking Phantastic donuts! Forget Dunkin’ or any other doughnut shop for that matter!
More of a cake doughnut which is the far superior doughnut, and oh-so-fresh! I’ll never go back to eating stale doughnuts made in the morning that have sat out for hours before you even buy them. They literally make your doughnuts in front of you, and they are so warm and melt right in your mouth.
I could eat six to the face in one sitting no problem. So many amazing flavors and you can also customize what you want your doughnut to be and have on it. I’m pretty sure there must be drugs in them, because I promise you won’t be able to eat just one!
Beyond the amazing doughnuts, every other facet of the business and all the other menu items are equally top notch. Milkshakes with doughnuts on top? Duck yeah. Scoop of home made ice cream on one of their melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts!?! Duck yeah!! Breakfast sandwich ON A DOUGHNUT? Sign me up!
Beyond the food, I think they have one of the best rewards programs I’ve ever come across. A couple trips and they’re giving you free DOZEN of doughnuts, not just one!
Save yourself some time and order ahead using their app, which also keeps track of your points towards the free doughnuts. Since finding this place I’ve yet to find a better doughnut besides maybe a couple joints down in the city…
I guess if you had to come up with one “drawback,” it would be that unlike traditional doughnut shops, they don’t carry things like apple fritters and eclairs, so If that is what you’re craving, you’ll have to go elsewhere, but since finding Duck Doughnuts I’ve had no...
Read moreThis was my go-to whenever I’m in the area. However, yesterday, my sister ordered half dozen and paying a little over $12. I purchased a dozen- 1 chocolate with sprinkles, 1 strawberry with sprinkles, 1 blueberry crumble, 2 chocolate with bacon and maple drizzle, 1 apple tart, 3 apple cobblers, 1 chocolate covered strawberry, 2 vanilla frosted with Oreo crumbles and chocolate drizzle- and paid over $21. We receive my sister’s first, which had 5. When we informed the workers, she was lied to and told “you only paid for 5 but I’ll give you an extra”. Nonetheless, my order was ready and luckily I checked, because my specific list that was also printed for the workers wasn’t followed and I was given 2 pumpkin rolls, 1 chocolate with bacon, 2 chocolates with sprinkles. When I again voiced the issue, I was questioned multiple times as though I was lying but no one produced my receipt when I told them to go back to look at it. A quick 3-5 minute purchase into an over 15 minute ordeal and I still left with 1 being incorrect. I get teenagers typically work here but an adult should be watching them and training them on better customer service. The blatant lie to my sister and the passive aggressive attitude insinuating I lied about my order genuinely irritated me to the point where we won’t patronize this...
Read moreWe popped in to Duck Donuts post brunch while visiting some friends in Philadelphia. I have to say I've never seen this concept before, and the idea that I got to make my own donut was a pretty sweet deal. That being said I feel like this type of business is more of a fad and kind of 'something fun to do'.
They have a list of already designed donuts if you aren't feeling too creative when you stop in. Otherwise you're free to make your own donuts with a choice of flavor, toppings, and drizzles. They do limit how many things you can put on it to not compromise the donut, so plan carefully. The fun part (in my opinion) is actually watching the donut get made. It's not a process that you usually get to see.
The donuts are served warm and need a minute to cool down. The donuts I had were pretty sickly sweet to be honest, but the flavor combination was nice. I imagine kids would enjoy going here but the line probably gets pretty long with everyone making decisions.
Going to Duck Donuts was fun while on vacation, but I don't think it'd be my normal donut stop if I lived in the area. Stop once, enjoy a perfectly acceptable donut, but only go back if you think it's worth...
