Experience was so bittersweet. I woke up with a craving for pistachio so while me and my family were at the mall we stumbled across this kiosk which advertised the infamous Dubai bar. The gentleman was very attentive in educating us on the product as well as generously providing samples of the halva and their different tea flavors. I tried two flavors of the halva and really enjoyed it. So much so that after walking away without making a purchase, I shortly returned to buy some. To my understanding, a pound was about $34. Which was outrageous but it tasted so good that I caved. I asked if I could have a piece of each of the two flavors that would equal a pound. While he was cutting and packaging it he was talking to us about my Jesus shirt and showing us some of his own work. He proceeded to ring me up and my total was $52. Skeptical, I paid for it and walker away trying to figure out how a “pound” ended up being $52. As I stated, the halva was delicious. But after paying that amount of money for it, I looked up the google reviews and see that numerous people have had the same experience. This is honestly shameful. My family and I have a small business that we’ve owned for 6 years. We are well known in the tri state area and have many regular supporters not only because of the quality of our product but because of the integrity of our business. It is so disappointing, especially as a fellow minority, to see a business taking advantage of customers this way. We are the kind of people who consistently support when the product is good as well as the customer service. But I promise, I will never return to this place again....
Read moreSCAM ALERT! CON ARTISTS! DECEPTIVE MARKETING! BUYER BEWARE! We just reported this to the KOP mall management so that they are on alert and can get rid of this kiosk. VERY nice man at counter will give you free samples of Halvah which is delicious You ask "how do I buy some?" and he will say I sell this in either 2 or 3 pieces. He will proceed to give you more and more samples as well as little dixie cups of delicious tea A piece (to you) sounds like the size of a piece of fudge, a brownie or truffle. Salesperson will proceed to remove the log of Halvah that you have chosen and hide it from you while cutting and preparing your "pieces" (we selected 6 pieces) Price for 6 pieces $222 No prices listed anywhere!!!!!!!! No discussion that a piece is a gigantic pound! Pieces are actually heavy slabs of Halvah - you are told "this will last a year and a half in the refrigerator as a way to justify the scam When you complain to store or leave a bad review owner will reply that this is the "only size they can sell - if you cut it smaller it falls apart"- I have attached a picture of Halvah cut into actual pieces. We have been eating this dessert our whole lives. You CAN cut it smaller and you can display...
Read moreWell stopped by today and sampled a few of the halva. I was a bit in shock on the price so I asked for only one flavor. Then he goes to say the minimum is certain slice and after he cut it, if was $22 which was outrageous. The part that really bothered me was that he was saying that the baklava is not sold by the piece, but by the box. He proceeds to show me the box sizes and I selected the smallest one. When he rings me I’m charged $50 total between the Baklava and the halva. I see the receipt later and it was $3.50 for each piece of the smallest piece of baklava you would ever see! Then eventually I checked their website to find out you could actually order a single piece of baklava from Doordash for counter pick-up.
Their product is really good, but the sales tactics are appalling!! Strongly suggest to post their prices and stop tricking your customers so you can make more money from the sales. All you are doing is losing one customer at the time! Ask yourself, would you rather have loyal customers that return time and time again or make the most money on a single purchase because they won’t be back? Reading all the reviews here and I’m...
