Title: Nightmarish Dining Experience
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5)
Date of visit: September 11, 2023
As someone who has dined at numerous establishments and appreciates good food and service, I can confidently say that my recent experience at Murillos Mexican food was an absolute disaster. I regret to inform you that my visit left a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively.
Let's start with the ambiance, or rather the lack thereof. The interior decor was outdated, resembling a time capsule from the 80s that desperately needed a refresh. The lighting was dim, giving off an eerie, unsettling vibe. There was an overwhelming, unidentifiable odor permeating the atmosphere, making it nearly impossible to enjoy the meal.
Now, onto the menu. It was an underwhelming selection of dishes, lacking in creativity and innovation. The prices, however, were exorbitant for the quality received. With such high expectations, I anticipated a culinary delight, but was met with mediocre, tasteless food that left me thoroughly disappointed.
The service was equally disappointing. The staff seemed indifferent and uninterested in providing a pleasant dining experience. Our server took an eternity to take our orders and frequently forgot about our requests, leaving us parched and hungry for extended periods. Not once did the waitstaff check on our satisfaction or offer any apologies for the numerous mishaps throughout the meal.
To add insult to injury, when our food finally arrived, it was clear that it had been hastily prepared and lacked any semblance of presentation. The dishes were overcooked, lacked seasoning, and were served at lukewarm temperatures. It felt like a slap in the face to pay a hefty sum for something that I could have prepared better in my own kitchen.
To top it off, the overall cleanliness of the establishment was questionable, with dirty tables, sticky floors, and unwashed cutlery overshadowing any potential redemption. It's astonishing that a restaurant can operate with such disregard for basic hygiene standards.
In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend Murillos Mexico restaurant . From the unappealing ambiance and lackluster food to the apathetic service and disregard for cleanliness, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Save your time, money, and taste buds, and choose a different dining establishment that can actually deliver on...

Right off the parking situation was a mess, The front lot was packed and there were cars parked on the side of the building so we weren't hopeful, but behind the building there's a larger parking lot. Once inside the decor has obviously never been updated since opening in the 60's or 70's, very old looking, very dingy, dirty and dark, a lot of empty open space, spider webs in the ceiling. They're in desperate need of a redecorating. The bathroom was surprisingly ok and there's a big beautiful mural by them nobody sees unless going to the toilet. The food was just ok, nothing great, nothing to warrant the amount of diners. I got the "super" burrito which stated to be XL but was no bigger than my mom's vegetarian burrito so I was disappointed with that. The kids got the taco and the quesadilla from the kids meal section, they both came with beans and rice which the kids didn't like and wouldn't eat. The quesadilla was very very small and left my son still hungry since he wouldn't eat the beans and rice. I wish they would have offered different sides for the kids. The service was terrible. We were served by a very unfriendly older woman. We asked her 5 times for water for my mom since she only brought four waters for our table of five. Five times she said she'd get one but we never received it. Finally, she brought my mom a water when she picked up our bill and we were ready to leave. Never apologized, never checked on us, never refilled anybody else's water. All in all, parking: confusing/ok, decor: awful, food: ok, service: sucks. We won't...

Carne asada with zero flavoring. Chicken that tasted boiled with no seasoning. It was all so bland. The mild salsa tasted like it belonged on top of spaghetti! And I need mild food, but thus was ridiculous.
After we finished, my husband ordered another dish to try. Tacos. And it took 30 minutes for those to come out, this is when we found out the carne asada had no flavor. I ordered dessert. Churro donuts. 20 minutes later, I am informed they are out. They did offer me a different dessert for free, but I declined.
Right before I was informed about the dessert, i swallowed wrong. I was coughing and choking a bit from the burn. I asked for water. This bartender continued to finish the drink order (when she finished the current drink she was making she continued to make 3 more) she was doing while i was coughing trying to calm my throat down. There was clearly something wrong. I got tired of waiting. I started digging ice cubes out of mine and my husbands margaritas (was better than nothing). She finished her order and went and got me water AND told me they were out of the chirro donuts and asked what else I wanted as I was trying to drink water to reduce the pain.
That was last straw for me and we asked for the check and left.
I would NOT...
