We stayed at the beautiful Glacier House in Vail, CO. -just a few minutes away from Lionshead. When I say that this house had everything we needed, it really had e v e r y t h i n g we needed. From several sets of tableware (plates, glasses, silverware, etc.) to a grill and a jacuzzi!! We used the grill once and made a delicious bbq. We used the jacuzzi twice to relax after a long day skiing. The beds were very-very comfortable. The bathrooms were fully stocked with amenities.
The temperature in this house was just perfect all the time, you couldn't even feel the heater on (we've stayed in older homes where it burns and hurts to breathe). The beds were so comfortable and the rooms had a decent size. To turn on the fireplace in the living room is as easy as turning the lights on. The garage fits 1 car inside as there is another car parked in there, but you can park 2 additional cars outside. There is a heater that you can turn on when it snows to keep it from freezing in the garage door. There is a wall mounted ski gear dryer that kept our boots warm and dry and also stored which was very convenient for us, as we were 12 people in the house.
This house exceeded our expectations. We were in contact with the owner directly -we even bothered him several times regarding the payment details, early check-in and check-out (that unfortunately were not available), but he always responded in a timely manner and provided a good service. We will definitely be coming back, hopefully as soon as...
Read moreThis house was perfect for the families we had traveling in for the Triple Crown World Series. There was plenty of room to spread out and talk about having all the necessities! Wow! We were impressed with all of the cooking items you would ever need to make meals for the week. We did not want to have to eat out for every meal and everything in the house made it easy on us to prep for the week.
The kitchen had plenty of room for us to enjoy our meals together and end the night with a game of cards. The kids area upstairs was perfect for a little hideaway and had video games, board games, etc. Everyone had their own bathrooms and we never felt like we were on top of each other. Out back we enjoyed the trails up the mountain and even saw a deer the first morning right beside the property. The house was a short drive from Beaver Creek and Vail.
Side story: Our truck was stolen out of a hotel parking lot in Denver the night before our arrival in Vail. The majority of our items we had packed for the trip were gone. One of things in the back of the truck were adjustable weights to keep us on track for the week we would be on vacation. When we walked into our room at this house, they had the same exact adjustable weights. It was like it was meant to be and it gave us a little pick me up.
We would definitely rent this place again - thank you for all the...
Read moreLocation - great, just a short walk to Lionshead square with all the shops and dining and to the slopes. Parking - is convenient, covered, and just underground. Elevators straight up to the unit. Private entrance to penthouse suite with heated floors and racks for skis, although not locked if someone were to come up the elevator. Bedrooms - 4 rooms, 3 on main floor and one up in loft. Be aware that there's no door to the bedroom on the loft. All beds were comfortable. Rooms had floor heating elements to help control temperature. Shades were dark/blackout, which was appreciated. Family room - appreciated all the games, including kid games. Couch was big and could fit a lot of people, with a big TV for watching March madness. However, couch is cowhide and a bit prickly, we preferred to put blankets down (there are plenty included) to make more comfortable. Deck - has gas grill and beautiful views of the mountain. Kitchen - well stocked with all dishes/plates/utensils you need. Not a ton of space for your own food/things, but that's okay. Everything works well. Washer & dryer - not in unit, but have in basement. Decor - more modern than we typically chose (multi-generational family with young kids), but fun and festive. Few service concerns but responded to quickly by Rob. Thanks for a great stay! Would love to stay at Vantage...
