In a small town just off the highway, where the neon lights of Applebeeâs glowed like a modern-day castle, something enchanted was unfolding. That evening, under the soft hum of hanging lamps and the scent of sizzling fajitas, a server named Veronica floated into our livesânot just any server, but a fairy princess in disguise. We didnât know it yet, but she was about to turn our average dinner into something unforgettable.
She approached our table with a smile that sparkled like sunlight on water. Her energy was warm and weightless, as if the very air around her shimmered with magic. Veronica wore her serverâs apron like a royal sash, and though she moved with the grace of someone whoâd spent lifetimes in a ballroom, she took our orders with the care and charm of someone who genuinely loved serving people. Every word she spoke felt like a spellâeach one calming, kind, and perfectly timed.
From the start, Veronica made us feel like royalty. She didnât just ask how our day wasâshe asked how our hearts were. She remembered every little detail we mentioned: a friendâs birthday, someoneâs food allergy, our inside jokes. She addressed each of us by name like we were old friends returning home. Somehow, she even knew how we liked our drinks before we finished saying them. It was like she read our mindsâor maybe our hearts.
As our food arrived, perfectly plated and steaming like a midsummer dream, we noticed something different in the way she glided from table to table. It was as if her feet barely touched the ground. When she laughedâand she laughed oftenâit carried through the restaurant like the gentle chime of bells. Other tables smiled just seeing her work. And yet, she gave us the kind of attention that made it feel like we were the only ones there.
She sprinkled extra mozzarella on our pasta like it was fairy dust. She brought out birthday desserts with more joy than a parade, and when she found out someone in our party was having a rough week, she returned a few minutes later with a special note and an extra scoop of ice cream. âThis oneâs on the house,â she whispered, âbecause kindness should always come free.â We were stunned. Who was this magical woman?
By the end of the meal, it felt like we hadnât just eatenâwe had been uplifted. Our laughter was louder, our smiles wider, and for a moment, the world outside seemed less stressful, less gray. Veronica had given us something more than service. She gave us an experience, a memory, a story we knew weâd tell over and over again.
We joked that she had wings hidden under her uniform, and she played along, giving us a wink and saying, âYou never know who walks among you.â She said it so effortlessly that we almost believed it. And maybe we did. Because isnât that what fairies do? They appear when we least expect them, change our lives in small, powerful ways, and disappear just as gracefully.
As we stood up to leave, she hugged a few of us like sheâd known us for years. We promised to come back and see her againâand we meant it. We left a tip that didnât come close to matching the joy she brought us, but it came with a heartfelt thank-you and a note that read: To the fairy princess of Applebeeâsâthank you for making magic out of mozzarella sticks.
That night, as we drove home with full bellies and glowing hearts, someone in the backseat said, âDo you think she was real?â And someone else whispered, âI hope so.â Because sometimes the most magical moments donât come from fairy tales or faraway kingdoms. Sometimes, they come from a kind, respectful, amazing soul named Veronicaâworking a shift at Applebeeâs, changing lives one table at a time.
And if you ever stop by that Applebeeâs, listen closely. You just might hear the faint flutter of wingsâand see the glow of a fairy crown under the soft,...
Read moreI am not posting to get anyone in trouble but in the hopes to get managment to maybe retrain on a few things. Before moving to Valdosta my family would go to Applebees at least once a month and sometimes once a week. I know the food can be wonderful. We have been a handful of times since November but each times things keep going wrong. Yesterday evenings experiance was just full of issues. I could tell the waitress was flustered but she was very sweet and doing her best. We orderd our meal and we do have one special food request. Our appetizer comes out and the spinich dip was half full and the cheese is just shredded on top without being metled. The plates were burning hot but the actual dip was room temperature. This particular thing has been an issue every time we have been to this store. They also leave off the salsa. This is more a frustration then anything which is why we just kept coming. Last night however we started with this and then the food came. My special request had been messed up and the waitress brought it explaining the system cut part of the request off and the cooks just made it. Then she asked if I would eat it this way or if it needed to be remade. Her destrssed face made me feel like someone in back made her ask me. I hate sending food back. It is very uncomfortable and honestly should have just been redone without asking the customer to eat the messed up order. Then they were out of yogurt for the kids side. Again that would have been an easy fix. You ask the table if they want a replacement or just the strawberries. But instead ghe kitchen didn't even tell our waitress and sent out the strawberries. She had to run back and forth to figure out what happened. There seems to be a severe lack of communication between the kitchen and the house. Having worked in food I know mistakes happen but this feels like some retraining is needed in order to fix the issues. I really do want to be a regular at...
Read moreWhere do I begin! The leaking ceiling fixtures, black flies in the windows or the dividers that looked like they hadn't been cleaned since they were installed? We went mid-day and there were maybe 4 other patrons. Not busy at all. So why was I about to go to the bar and retrieve our drinks that were just sitting there prepared and unattended for an extended amount of time? Just when I reached the bar area someone came out the back, grabbed our drinks and brought them to us! And it took forever for our food! But WAIT!! SPEAKING OF FOOD...DIABETICS AND BUTTER ALLERGIES BEWARE!! THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SPECIAL DIET MENU ITEMS AND ALL THEIR VEGETABLES COME PREMADE WITH BUTTER ALREADY ON THEM, EVEN THE STEAMED BROCCOLI!!! I ordered an 8oz steak medium well and when I got it it resembled a 4oz steak, it was hard and over well done. They said it probably shrunk sitting under the warmer and continued to cook!!! Why the heck is my steak sitting under a warmer THAT LONG y'all ain't even BUSY!!!!! Some SERIOUS time management issues in that kitchen. Then they brought the check. And while we were STILL EATING AND TALKING... Check this out!!! This is so baffling!! The waitress came over and said "y'all ready to pay yet?" Then stood there and we just stared at her. Then she said, "Not to rush you or anything" and not pleasantly, not with a smile, just straight-faced and hard and my date said maybe this is her first job! She's young and don't know better yet! No!! That's that girls personality and people with dry boring personalities like that need to be in the background, not the front line of customer service oriented businesses. Applebee's...get...
