Wow, IHOP!! I took a picture of this when I went in to have breakfast today. * note that it's posted on the cash register, the hostess stand, and the donation box all as you walk right in*
since I can't post a photo here is what the the sign said:
" In order to receive a free short stack, a mandatory donation is required. Please remember this free Pancake Day is to raise money for our charity UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals in Oakland and San Francisco. We thank you in advance for your generosity" . Notice they use the word "mandatory".
I called corporate and their voice recording about National Pancake Day is that "they ask that you consider making a donation". Not only that but the hostess makes you aware that you must make a donation.
Corporate stated they have had several complaints come in and have asked them to remove the sign but it has not been done.
I happily made a donation because I believe in the Children's Miracle Network and the Children's Hospital as we support them at my place of employment as well.
I just found it ironic that they use the word "consider" at corporate and "mandatory" at the franchise with regards to a donation.
I sure hope the money they raise definitely goes to the children's hospital and not into...
Read moreVisited this IHOP location on 2/18/24 at around 10AM, and I’ve been to over 30 IHOP locations all over the country and this is the FIRST time I have to say that I’m genuinely disappointed.
They let us down from the get go, starting with forgetting our coffee,… bringing it at the END of the meal instead of before! Secondly the Chicken fried steak was far beyond sub par, tasted raw and looked like it’s been sitting. Hasbrowns we’re also slightly soggy, when they’re supposed to be crispy
Secondly we usually order Cinna Pancakes through the app, by getting an up charge on the classic buttermilk, no IHOP location has ever had an issue upgrading the pancakes for me but the manager here (middle to late age Hispanic women wearing a light green collar shirt) was rude, unhelpful, and set a very negative tone for the atmosphere, she REFUSED to talk about our issues at hand, and just arrogantly said she couldn’t help us with an unpleasant facial gesture.
If ANYONE wants to IHOP, I advise strictly against this location, they will let you down on every Avenue possible and visiting this IHOP on Plaza Dr will make you not want to return to these establishments....
Read moreI wanted to use my birthday coupon. I was told that I had to use my birthday coupon in the restaurant as a seated customer; however, the coupon does not stipulate me having to be in or out of the restaurant. So, the front desk staff went to her manager, as if I was not staying facts and appearing to be conformational. I simply provided a paper copy of that birthday coupon to point out facts, but she felt empowered to state what she felt the coupon should say, other than what it already stated. The manager was kind enough to adjust my order and I was able to still purchase add-on items; however, the service still with less than poor and how the food was given to me was it a giant brown paper bag for groceries, without kindly reviewing any of my order items with me. I understand how it feels when you have to be corrected by your manager as well as the customer. It's best to leave personal emotions out of business matters because it's not about you it's about the service. I think management should be able to maybe have discussion with their on...
