Me and my wife have visited the two Dairy Queen restaurants in Valparaiso very frequently lately as she has been getting "cravings" if you know what I mean. We have been having nothing but problems from this location and have been opting to go to the Calumet Ave location instead. We order the same thing every time and never change the order. We love Reese's blizzards with extra Reese's. When we order at the Calumet location it is fast and friendly service and get exactly what I ordered and paid for but when we are closer to this location when her "cravings" hit we place our order but get nothing that we get at the other location. We have to go from the drive thru to the lobby and have it corrected. They act like the Reese's peanut butter cups are some priceless artifacts that can't possibly be parted with. They not only fail to put extra Reese's in them they hardly put any in. I have to speak to someone in charge most of the time but today was a real treat. I actually went inside to complain as usual and got to meet the owner. Lucky me right! She actually told me that she could not give me extra Reese's because I had no way of knowing if she had put them in the blizzards or not until I finished eating them. So I politely told her that I would be back and I was going to my car where me and my wife will eat the blizzards and then bring the empty cups back in to let her know that there were not enough Reese's in them. She stopped me and then looked at the blizzards and obviously seen that I was correct and there was barely any in it and began to pour extra topping on them. I know this is a horribly long review but this has irritated us for some time now and today was it for us. Please take our word for it and make the short drive to the Calumet location. Thank...
Read moreI have been to this location several times and i have also been to the calumet ave location in Valpo and there is a definite difference in product and in customer service. The Valpo Laporte ave location by the round about always gives the smallest amount of toppings for the blizzards. The toppings are never even mixed in thoroughly either. The small amount they put in the blizzard is also always just at the top and the rest is vanilla ice cream or chocolate depending on what flavor we get that day. My last experience there I also received the added pleasure of getting the unfriendly staff member at the drive through window . A smile and a thank you would really go a long way especially when the blizzard you receive there isn’t what it should be. Now, I also go to the calumet location and the difference is very clear. Blizzards are mixed throughout and an ample amount of toppings in the blizzard. Honestly, the only reason I even stop at the Laporte ave round about location is that I’m closer when I decide I want dq. I think from now on I am going to skip my dw fix for that day if that location is my only option. My suggestion get it together at that round about location. It couldn’t be that difficult to make a good blizzard and to be friendly...
Read moreUsually when we go it's okay, but don't go when its busy because they screw up all the time. Most recently I went and the manager on duty had the biggest attitude with me. I ordered 2 blizzards at the drive through and when I got to the window to pay, the girl asked if I wanted a car cup. I asked if I could actually have them in a bag instead and she mentioned something about the cupfection not really having a lid that would fit in a bag. I said I ordered 2 blizzards so she went and got her manager and the manager looked at the receipt and very rudely handed it to me saying "it says 2 blizzards, looks right to me! does it look right to you?!" I said "yes this is what I ordered but the other girl said something about a cupfection so I was just confirming that I was getting my 2 blizzards" the manager just was acting super rude about the whole ordeal and when I got home, neither blizzard was even correct (guess my fault for not checking there and then but the manager was acting super rude to me for no reason at all and I...
