Crazy good! This is a top tier roastery and espresso Cafe, had high expectations given how much my sisters like it here and surprisingly did not have high enough! It is a beautiful and inviting atmosphere, plenty of space, high ceilings made for ideal vibes, and the staff matches the easy going space. The menu is perfect with something to treat everyone's taste. Noticed hand crafted house made syrups which signify an aim for royalty flavors and balanced java lattes, my sisters already waxed eloquent on seasonal brews the past year. I can happily support all and any items Dagger ever makes at this rate. My sister and I did the Salted Maple and an Orange latte off the seasonal menu. Noticed the orange was quiet and letting the roast speak louder but mine was well balanced promoting both tingly salt and smooth maples notes, wish we could've stayed around for a bit! Will definitely be back here even with many other excellent coffee options in the area, I can put Dagger up there with Sacred Grounds in Lafayette, Zion in Peoria, and Gaia in Indianapolis for my favorite midwest...
Read moreOkay, so I missed that it was vegan when I looked it up, I was just there to get coffee on my way through Valparaiso. After I ordered a latte and saw her making it with oat milk my brain processed everything and, oh well. I also got a black cold brew. The coffee is outstanding. I am not vegan and would have preferred real milk in my latte, but I will definitely go back to this place any time I'm in the area because the coffee is so good. It is a very nice space, airy and open and bright, a good place to sit and relax a minute. I also bought whole beans to go and just had some at home (the Nightshade - Dark Roast) and I usually don't buy blends but this one knocks it out of the park (been getting into darker roasts lately for some reason). 100%, five stars, will always go back, excellent, excellent coffee and very...
Read moreThis truly is the best place for coffee and espresso in the Valpo area, and the only option for locally roasted beans (and excellent at that). Actually, let me expand that: probably the best coffee spot in northwest Indiana. A bit hidden, but everyone seems to like it that way; the seeming remoteness in this small industrial park seems to adds to the charm, and is especially nice when the weather allows for opening the garage door to the outside. They do an awesome job, and I send people here all the time.
Be aware they are a dairy-free zone — I admit I was skeptical when they made that move, but I’ve come to love the Oatley oat milk which complements the coffee amazingly well (not to mention holds up in latte art). It has ended up not being a deterrent in the slightest...and neither should...
