I had a second unfortunate experience at Wings Etc. in Valpo. Today I ordered 10 boneless + 10 bone - in + onion rings. I ordered off the menu pointing at the "specials" which had both bone in and out listed as 89. cents today only. When I got my bill however 10 wings were over charged. When I pointed it out to the waitress/bartender she said that bone in was not part of the .89 cent deal. I pulled out the menu and showed her the .89 advertisement for both kinds of wings and said please explain. (I want to pause here because the server was trying very hard to handle a situation she was clearly in the middle of. She was very nice and not part of the problem) She took it to the back where she was informed that it was indeed a mistake and proceeded to charge me the higher price. I didn't want to make a scene in the middle of the bar (in front of the only 2 patrons there today) so I left. When I got in the car I decided to call and spoke with the manager - Manager Mike. He said "it was human error and that I was charged the correct price". I told him that I understand it was human error however I was not informed of the different price until my order was completed and that had I known there was a different price it would have influenced my order and he at first politely told me I was SOL. When he asked me what I expected him to do about it I told him I didn't appreciate his illegal bait and switch sales tactic and that I should have at the very least been charged the price I was originally given. He made no attempts at polite professional customer service so I said good day and hung up. We used to love this place... Poor management seems to be driving this place into the ground though unfortunately. This is now my second (back to back) poor experience here. I wish I could say maybe 3rd time is a charm but lately I'm feeling more like this is baseball and it's nearly 3 strikes. ❌❌ The sauces are really good. The onion rings were decent. Clearly my bone-out were expensive chicken nuggets... 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ At this point all I can say is go there with caution. ♥️Please continue to support small businesses...♥️ Especially the very few that are actually open on a Monday. ♥️ Please just pay attention to your receipt/"specials", maybe confirm all the prices when you order since they are very quickly subject to change at their leisure... and please tip...
Read moreMe and my husband went there the other day. He ordered wings, and I got a chicken salad. With both of our meals we ordered ranch, which was on our bill. When we got our food my husband mentioned that something about his wings were off. So I tried them, and it tasted as if the sauce was bad. So he had them remake it. He got his second batch of wings, and he still had the same problem. So I decided to compare his ranch to the one I used for my salad. When I tasted both of them, one of the ranchs was clearly off. He asked to speak to the manager, and the manager just said that they never mess up orders, and that ranch could not get bad. I said that no if the ranch is kept in conditions that aren't sanitary, for example if it's not kept cold then it'll get bad easily. He just shook his head and said there's nothing I can do. We just got up and left, becuase if a costumer is saying something is wrong with their food, a manager should try and make it better. Not say that there's nothing they could do. I took both ranches home, and had one of my parents try it to see if me and my husband were not losing it, my mom agreed with us, and my dad said he thought it tasted like blue cheese. However he said that blue cheese should be thick and not watery. If a place wants to keep costumers, they should at least try to help them. Read moreI attempted to order take out from this restaurant tonight. First time. During my call, there was a lot of background noise and the gal on phone kept screeching “What?? What??” in my ear. I have never been accused of talking too quietly (that’s the nice way to put it), and I actually speak for a living so enunciation is not an issue. Problem is, there was so much background noise that the person just couldn’t hear me. So, I grew weary of this phone call and said I would just come in as I was just around the corner any way. Imagine my amazement when I entered and found the place was not in fact particularly loud. I expected the pace to be packed. It wasn’t. So, I asked to speak to the manager to share this experience, and suggest that maybe, just maybe someone else should take the orders in a quieter area. Because get this, come to find out the BARTENDER takes the food orders right under the TV speakers behind the bar, despite the fact this place has a hostess! I said, “If there is that much background noise behind the bar, perhaps someone else should take the orders.” I was told by the manager, “Well, we couldn’t do that. See that’s part of the way she makes her tip money…
