This is the third time I have went to this Red Robin and been completely and utterly disappointed before I even got in the restaurant. Because all three times I have not got in the restaurant. Not only are they lying to their customers and their staff they are running off any potential return customers. I have been a customer and or affiliated with Red Robin since 1988. Having been a candidate for a district manager job. And a corporate trainer for several years. I am thoroughly disgusted at the way that the operation in Valparaiso is being ran at this point all Red Robin stock should be sold because they will not be in business in 90 days if they don't learn how to take care of customers. This is not just a store problem I am afraid that it is a corporate level decision that has been made that has failed the long-term customers of Red Robin in general. And it hurts me and levels I can't even express in this small post. We were greeted at the door with signs that said due to a shortage of Staff which is not true there are candidates trying to get jobs in the entire Valparaiso Market. They have just ran off all of the good candidates. That they would be running the restaurant at partial staff. And that there would be a 45-minute wait because of that with 10 cars in the parking lot. And after I went ahead and said it didn't matter I wanted to eat there this time we went in and the hostess told us it would be a 45 minute wait took my phone number. And then told me that I could not wait inside the building. This in my opinion even though I am a white male is still discrimination. I feel that Red Robin is failing their customers in many many aspects either the district manager in Indiana needs to be replaced immediately. Or the corporation itself needs to decide that they're done trying to represent the Red Robin that started in Washington State. I do understand that covid regulations did limit restaurants for a while but in this state of Indiana the the entire band has been lifted. Restaurants are allowed to go to full capacity but yours chose to play the we don't have enough staff card. And we are allowed to stay in the lobby. If you're still reading...
Read moreFirst, was told there was about a 15 min wait for 2. No problem, except it was more like a 30 min wait. Then we were sat in what seemed like the middle of an adoption center, we were surrounded by I kid you not 4 different tables of at least 4 children (screaming, crying, running around). This is obviously out of the restaurants control, but an alternative absolutely would’ve been nice. After we were sat, we realized the wait was because each server could only handle two tables at a time, because the restaurant was NOT busy at all. Our waitress approached our table within two mins of being sat, which is great. After our initial interaction, she was pretty much MIA for the rest of the meal. After ordering drinks, our ID’s were checked THREE different times since we “looked young.” One was an Indiana ID and the other was IL, nothing out of the blue. Drinks, appetizer, & food was ran out by other servers/manager. Our drinks tasted like straight club soda & neither one of us finished our $7 drink. If the server was more attentive we would have both switched them out but was never given the opportunity. My burger came out great but my boyfriends plate ended up being a straight pile of grease. Halfway through our meal our server finally came back where we asked for more napkins, another side of fries, & a side of bbq. 3 additional napkins were brought, the bbq found its way, but the fries were completely forgotten. I only ate half of my burger and was never offered a box. We then sat for so long that we were so disinterested we didn’t even remind her about the fries or box. At the end of the meal we go to pay, two meals, two drinks, one app, & two milkshakes somehow ended up leaving the bill around $90. Directly after we paid, our ziosk died, leaving no receipt & no opportunity to take any sort of survey. The floor was absolutely disgusting and I found myself stepping over/around trash to get to the door. Overall, I would’ve rather spent the $90 for twice the amount of food at Olive Garden. Very much upset as we have always had positive experiences with previous Red Robin’s, but we will absolutely...
Read moreMy recent lunch visit to Red Robin in Valparaiso was a comfortable, familiar experience. As a regular Red Robin diner, I relish their signature bottomless fries and tantalizing root beer floats, which consistently hit the spot.
Upon my arrival, there was a slight delay in seating, with a few minutes spent waiting at the hostess counter. However, considering the early timing of my visit, this minor oversight did not significantly impact the overall positive tone of my experience.
The real star of my visit was the exceptional service. My server, Candace, truly embodied the level of customer service that can transform a simple meal into a remarkable dining experience. Her attentive nature and proactive approach ensured that I was well-taken care of throughout my meal. Her knack for anticipating my needs, such as timely refills and regular check-ins, was truly remarkable.
For my main course, I decided to try the BBQ Burnt End burger, a recent addition to their menu. While the dish didn't particularly stand out, it provided a solid, comforting meal. The "burnt ends" were more akin to sirloin chunks in a traditional BBQ sauce, resulting in a straightforward, if not particularly adventurous, flavor profile. The freshness of the meal could have been improved slightly, but the burger was certainly satisfactory for a casual lunch. The cooking options, "with pink" or "no pink", though limiting, do ensure a consistent level of doneness to suit most tastes.
In conclusion, my lunch at Red Robin in Valparaiso was a satisfactory experience. While the food provided reliable comfort, it was the exemplary service provided by Candace that truly made the meal memorable. This visit reaffirmed that Red Robin's strong suit lies not just in their dependable fare, but also in their unwavering commitment to top-notch...
