Batteries Plus — Local services in Valparaiso

I edited my review from 1 star to 5 star after being contacted by the store and rectifying the situation in a polite and professional manner. No need to punish the store due to their being in an untenable situation. However the problem still exists due to Corporate decisions and you should be aware of it. I find it dubious to process purchases instantly and refunds in 5-7 business days. There is no reason for it (technical or otherwise) other than poor implementation and possibly greed. If it persists, I will no longer do business with Batteries Plus.

This is a tough call in giving such a low rating, and in reality has nothing to do with the store itself (which I would give 5 stars easily), it's their corporate culture which is the culprit. I purchased a battery and mistakenly put it on my personal CC. I asked if we could cancel it and put it on my company CC, as it is a maintenance issue therefore deductible. The transaction was refunded and put on my corporate CC. Here I sit 3 business days later without a refund and no end in sight. I called the store and they were told the refund could take up to 5-7 business days, attempting to blame the problem on my bank. I called my bank (Centier...5 stars to be sure) and they laughed assuring me they process such matters as soon as they get them. I was then told by the store the problem is the company they use to process CC transactions. All fine and good albeit here is the problem, both purchase transactions went through instantly although the refund takes 5-7 days?! A this point I have one of the most expensive batteries in the state. Poor form Batteries Plus! I deal with a vast number of merchants, Home Depot being one them, with which refunds are instantaneous. You need to work much harder to become a better...

Staff are professional and very well informed. They know much more about batteries then your local "battery guy" and much more than most auto stores that claim to be advanced in knowledge or peppy in service, without naming any names. They knew that my car battery would fail a load test at the low state of charge it was in (12.4 volts or below) and recommended they charge it fully for me and let it sit overnight before doing a load test for free, they could've tried to take advantage by telling me it was junk and recommend I buy a new one but they wanted what was best for ME, unlike many other establishments that have tested the battery in the state I brought it to them and tried to sell me a replacement without fully charging it. They then explained to me that I had been making to many short trips not allowing my alternator to fully charge the battery and recommended a solution to my problem by selling me a maintainer for my battery to ensure I wouldn't be left stranded in the future. Batteries Plus is an HONEST company! ( long review but WORTH the read) ! After having Best Buy put on a new screen protector on my phone they gave it back, and it looked more cracked than when I gave it to them! When I questioned the guy, " Ryan", he told me " oh yeah, your actual phone is cracked"! I was shocked. So after NO HELP from " Insignia", ( LOUSY phone protector , a Best Buy Brand,) I took phone to Batteries Plus in Valparaiso. They called to tell me that RYAN, from Best Buy, had put the NEW protector ON TOP of the old one! Now, Batteries Plus COULD have told me that my phone screen, WAS indeed cracked..and taken my money, BUT THEY WERE HONEST, and told me the screen was fine! They saved me HUNDREDS of dollars! Moral of the story.... EVERYONE should use BATTERIES PLUS , as their GO TO for cell phone repair.. NO QUESTION....the ONLY PLACE I WILL go to for cell...
