My husband and I had never bought or had vinyl flooring installed before, and to say we had questions would be a understatement. We looked at some of the large home improvement store and few smaller flooring stores and to say the least we left with questions unanswered and frustrated. While driving through Valparaiso we noticed that Schillings had a new home store that sells flooring, we stopped and went in. We were greeted by a gentleman that was friendly and explained the many item's that Schillings carried. We told him we needed wood flooring and he introduced us to Jenna their flooring specialist. What a breath of fresh air to shop with no high pressure sales tactics. Jenna talked to us to find out what our needs were and proceed to show us what products fit our flooring needs. After finding one's we liked,Jenna explained each of the samples characteristics and various ways we could incorporate them with our stairs and transition to blend with our existing tile and carpeting . Jenna explained the process and answered all of our and concerns and we left with large samples to see how they would look in our home. After getting a more than reasonable quote by on of their many well respected installers and Schillings very competitive prices we placed our order. If you are contemplating a new build or have a remodeling project I highly recommend Schillings of Valparaiso, what an asset to the community, from the minute we walked in the door we were greeted by Austin in the flooring department and after gathering some information regarding our new build project we were then greeted by Ken Perez who took the lead on our project by introducing us to the Schillings team with expert knowledge on doors, windows, siding, decking, cabinets, countertops and fixtures, Ken assured us that that the Schillings customer service was second to none and Schillings was committed to earning our business and I can confirm that Schillings customer service and professionalism is second to none, but the true highlight was meeting Brittany Johnson a very Talented and Professional kitchen and bath designer. Brittany took our ideas and wall colors to design a stunning layout for our kitchen, baths and laundry room which included flooring, cabinetry, sinks, quartz countertops, backsplash and fixtures. Her attention to detail is simply amazing. Ken made sure that all our questions and concerns were addressed before we left and offered his assistance with our complete project. We have used Schillings before but this was our first time using the Valparaiso location. We know them to offer a one-stop-shopping experience from flooring to cabinets to tile and more, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how much they have on display in their smaller (but very conveniently located) showroom in Valparaiso. We interviewed multiple companies for this project as it was a complete renovation of our main floor, but with particular focus being on the kitchen. Their ability to computerize the whole project and show us a graphical depiction of the space we were designing was very helpful to us and really helped us to see what we were doing before we had to sign off on the final plans. Beyond that, Jenni Knight was also a huge help to us when it came to design choices. Everything from selecting complementary colors (flooring, cabinets, countertops, etc.) to cabinet styles to hardware options to crown moulding options benefitted from Jenni's input and experience in this process and we could not be more pleased with the finished product.
