Starter: Chicken Shawerma Starter - We split the hearty appetizer among our eclectic party of four and even the skeptics among us were salivating over the tender, seasoned chicken chicken over house made hummus with red onion and sprigs of rosemarry which we pilled on top of our pita triangles.

Platters/Entrees: Paprika Chicken - A cozy, tomato cream sauce, hearty bowl of warming/autumn spiced goodness delivered to your seat with generous hunks of chicken breast meat, green spinach, and a sprig of Rosemary just for fun. The homey paprika curry -style sauce was so rich and full of depth and flavor. As delectable as my friend’s garlic arugula salad in her Cedar Flank Steak was I may have to just order the Paprika Chicken every time I return!

Constructive Criticism - the dining room gets pretty chilly now that we’re heading into another northern Indiana winter. The big windows and glass door take up the whole street-facing wall and let a lot of heat escape - they could always put in a partition to block the heat from escaping when someone opens the door, add insulation or seasonal curtains to the big windows (or turn up the heat).

Complimentary hot tea could go a long way while they figure it out! :-) ;-)

Food was so delicious and service so friendly I still gave it 5 stars. Delicious food and overall great...

Very good food. Sat with a table of 4 people. We got the yams and some sort of beet salad for starters. Was tasty. For out meals we got the salmon(was very good and cooked very well but was a super small amount of the main star for 24$) the plate how ever was filled with rice with dill, and a green been with a white sauce and had lettuce and spinach with it. Everything else was 8 or 9 $. Another person had a Mediterranean pizza(hummus feta and tomato) tasted homemade and was that kind of thin crust that had the air pockets in it. Another two of people had the med burger(normal burger with feta and tzatziki sauce) cooked very well and was juicy with the toppings falling out with each bite(fabulous). All the food was good. Has a very close atmosphere( 30- 40 people max inside with another 6 tables outside) only issue was long wait times but the food tastes super fresh. I have to take a moment to extend a thank you to the staff at Meditrina Market Cafe in Valpo. I dont have power, so I ordered takeout from there for dinner. When I went to leave to pick it up, I realized I parked in the garage (NO POWER), so I called them to tell them I wouldn't be able to pick up my order. They said that they were very sorry and that they would void my order, but to call back if my power came back before they closed.

A few minutes later I got a call from them asking if they could please have my address because they were going to send someone to DELIVER MY FOOD to me!! This place does NOT deliver. They made this exception because of their amazing customer service and the compassion of their staff.

Having worked in food and customer service for years, I am floored by this, and I will continue to support this business as much as I can! EAT AT MEDITRINA...
