Let’s get one thing straight, the food is to die for. Zero complaints about the food, best stuffed chicken I’ve ever had. My family and I have been to Stacks over 15 times now and we were never told they had multiple menus depending where you are seated. We’ve never even been asked our preference on seating. The hostess has always just seated us at ground floor table. I really feel that the restaurant needs to let people know upon arrival so everyone has a chance to experience the entire menu. Finding parking is very difficult and the wait to be seated is tiresome. The waitresses are attentive and pleasant. On one occasion, I did call to inquire about reserving a rooftop globe for a party, and I was never updated. They were supposed to get back to me that afternoon but nothing. That was a let down. Whoever I spoke with wasn’t the most polite either. For all these reasons I’m on the fence. But the food is spectacular 😁
UPDATE** I guess I I must have jinxed myself about the food lol. I went back to stacks today and got the stuffed chicken, that I love so much, it was like I was eating a completely different dish.. It was super spicy, there was zero cheese on it or in it and I don’t know what happened to the pin nuts that they used to stuff it with because didn’t see any of that either. It was literally just stuffed with an It was literally just stuffed with a red paste. Also, we ordered the toasted ravioli and my son said it was ridiculously spicy to where it wasn’t edible. He happens to love spicy food just like me.But that’s all u could taste in both our entrees. Literally just burn your mouth nothing else. We ordered the pretzel bites With our meal and my fiancé said they were the quality of movie theater Pretzel bites. Hard and rubbery. Tonight was pretty disappointing. He came right when they opened and They were not busy. Not They normally are. I know sometimes that matters. Out of everything at Stacks, usually we can always count on the food being...
Read moreWow, what a great restaurant! The entrance was a bit weird but we managed to make our way inside. It was packed for a Thursday at 5pm. They have two dining areas. The main floor and upstairs for 21 and over. The main dining area had a 30 minute wait so they recommend we try upstairs. To get upstairs you take this old wooden winding staircase that is lined with books all around! It reminded me of a Harry Potter movie. Too cool! Once upstairs we were greeted promptly and seated in the bar area. We were there for a dinner and the table provided was a bit small. We asked if we could get a larger table. They accommodated us without question and were seated a little further from the bar area at a larger table. The waitress came quickly. She took our drink and appetizer order. We asked for the Bruschetta. The order came quickly for how busy they were. We simply ordered diet Coke's but their alcohol drink menu is extensive. The Bruschetta was excellent! Plenty of fresh tomato chucks to serve on the bread as you see fit. We then ordered our Entree's. My wife ordered their Tomahawk Ribeye and I ordered their Coconut Shrimp. While waiting for our food we noticed the very nice festive decorations for Christmas. They had the area heated well so we were not cold. It's was a tad loud with chatter but the place was packed. The food came really quick! My wife's ribeye was cooked to a nice medium rare. It was huge! It came with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and finished with brady mushroom sauce. My coconut shrimp came carved out into a half sliced pineapple shell! There was an abundance of shrimp and the pineapple rice was nested below the shrimp in the hollowed out pineapple shell. The food tasted great! This place is the real deal. Our server was excellent and attentive. This has to be one of the best restaurants in NW Indiana. Period. Their prices are above average but the food and atmosphere more than make of for it! We will definitely be making...
Read moreGreat food & prices! The only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is because we always get seated at a small 2-top booth or table. If you don't want to wait an hour for a table, make reservations online. You'll most likely need to do this DAYS ahead of time. Just don't expect to request a full sized table or booth if there's only 2 in your party! We like the elbow room and table space for apps, food & drinks. On the past 5 or so reservations, I requested a 4-top booth, but when we arrived, we were seated at a 2-top. I mention the reservation and how we want the space, but they tell us they have to save the other tables for larger parties. That's not always true! We either see a couple already seated or they end up seating another 2-person party at 1 while we're there!! It's very frustrating & makes me feel unappreciated! There are several other good restaurants within our 20-25 minute drive, let alone within blocks of this spot! The fact that we can not get a full booth has limited how often we go here and how much food we order. The stack sticks are great. They're huge and reheat well in an air fryer. But that adds a few plates to our limited space, so we don't order 99% of the time. The restaurant loses some money, but apparently they don't think they care. We are in and out under an hour, so I'm not sure why they can't seat us at a full table for the short amount of time we're there. If so, we'd go weekly, instead of monthly or once every few months. This may seem petty, but it's actually a very small gesture to accommodate & pretty simple...
