I appreciate this place’s existence a lot! Not so many places in town you can just get a side plate of veggies and hummus. They also have elderberry syrup, I’m very grateful! It was less than $40 which is to be expected. Wish the packaging had a spout instead of the standard cap though, it’s easy to spill at home even if you pour carefully.

It’s nice to see they offer some fresh produce for sale near the front of the ordering area!

The smoothies should be worth a try but I wasn’t impressed by the Pistachi-No… it was a touch too banana-y and I actually do like bananas. My friend tried a kale salad and the bee pollen’s earthiness was a bit too heavy for her, the staff should check with people about that. She wasn’t able to finish it but I ate it for her ha. Doused it in dressing.

I also tried the B Nutty peanut butter displayed at the front of the shop, I’m glad I bought it for the occasional spoonful snack (got the peanut butter pretzel one)

My friend got some biodegradable plastic ziplock-type baggies and she was very happy about that.

I will come back again but not often. It’s pricey. Slightly disappointed overall but the place still has a lot to offer. We saw plenty of people in there lunching and...

LOVE Roots! It’s definitely a go to vegan spot for me in Valpo. It has a great atmosphere, with split level dining and a small one seater bathroom on the lower level. To my understanding, they make everything fresh and in house and you can tell as soon as you take your first sip or bite of what you ordered! You can also see the fresh produce they use because they keep the refrigerators across from the register.

They have artwork on the walls for sale, and they also let places post flyers and business cards on a wall at the lower level.

While the food is excellent, it is a little pricey for a college kid. I had one of their wraps and a smoothie recently and was hoping for a little more food for the price I paid. However, quality is definitely 5 star worthy.

I recommend whatever vegan muffin they have at the register! The last one I had was a banana nut muffin with chocolate chips! Best...

My family and I went in for a quick stop while we walk around Valpo after my sons first haircut. We were extremely disappointed. We got a few muffins, apple slices with PB, and smoothies. Seems like this place has never heard of lemon zest or the flavor enhancement properties of adding salt to baked goods. Everything was so bland. Surprisingly, even their PB wasn’t good. After living in Japan, my wife has developed a love for macha but she complained how the Macha Smoothie tasted like green coconut milk and nothing like macha. I highly recommend that quite a few things get revamped with the goal of increasing flavor. We couldn’t stop joking how this is one of those places that give the life styles of vegetarians and vegans a bad rep. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere more appropriately priced that has...

I love Roots! They are very good about food allergies and the food is always fresh and delicious. I enjoy a smoothie bowl with granola and cashew butter. Today I ordered to go for a few of us. I didn't get my dressing for my fiesta bowl and when I arrived to pick up my to go order they have a sign that says don't go past here. So what's the protocol for to go? If you want people to go to the register then say that but there's zero direction. I asked a worker and gave her my name she just shrugged. I stood there for a while and my stuff was ready the whole time because when I inquired, again, a nicer girl checked the stuff sitting there and got the drinks from a cooler. Usual service is much better, today was not that.

Sooo I have been wanting to try this place for a while now. When I went in I was only going to grab a smoothie and a hot chocolate for my daughter. The lady made me a special coconut smoothie with lime and cinnamon added which was very refreshing! I ended up ordering a Kale Kraze salad. I know I should have taken a picture before I ate but I am sometimes a little backwards. This salad was so unexpectedly awesome yall!! I ate every bit ...SEE... hehe
