This place is awesome and unique! Great affordable prices and a fun casual atmosphere. They have a HUGE selection of wine and beer, more than I was expecting given the size of the venue. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. I definitely plan to go back and try some food items off the menu, as they all sounded delicious (I just stuck to drinks this time around). The only complaint I have is that a family came in with two toddlers who were shrieking and running around the shop, without much supervision of the parents. The two kids were screaming, while running up and down the main aisle where breakable bottles of wine were well within reach. My party and several other tables were clearly irritated by the scene, as it sounded like a McDonalds play palace, instead of venue where adults come to drink, relax, and socialize. Anyway, the staff did nothing to assist in preserving the experience of the other patrons. They never asked the parents to keep their kids from running around the room and disturbing other guests. Several times the kids opened the front door and let a draft in. I know itâs not the shopâs responsibility (like who brings kids to a bar anyway, right?) I mean there are so many family oriented options where kids can play and eat nearby. A bar just seems in such bad taste in my opinion. I donât pay to sip on a nice glass of wine while a child is trying to make a playground out of the barstools next to me. You would think when it begins to obviously take away from other patronsâ experience that someone would...

Ben's is bring great beer to a convenient, under-served portion of Vancouver. Their beer selection is solid. Although it won't compete with the likes of Bailey's taproom or Belmont station it is filled with solid beers from west coast breweries. I am sure you will find something that looks interesting but if you have exhausted the taplist you can turn to the wall of bottles and pick our a world-class beer. Don't expect to find the full lineup of beers from a brewery at Bens, shop by style instead. Bottles have been organized by style (belgian, IPA, stout, etc) and in each section you will find some of the best beers of that style. This is a sign that the person placing beer orders for Ben's understands beer and values quality over marketing or branding.
Menu is small but everything i have tasted is absolutely delicious. This is the place to go for happy hour snacks and brews. I would recommend the pulled port nachos or any of the sliders.
Although the beer and menu are both solid the best part of Ben's is the service. I have visited twice; once on a busy night and once when it was dead on a Monday afternoon. Both times I received excellent service with polite and accurate menu suggestions...

Engaging tapmaster, knowledgeable about the rotating beers on tap; not vapid & vacuous, nor too cool or nerdy. Clean, hip, creative, earthy, modern Industrial interior design clever, efficient & sublimely artistic down to the smallest detail. Welcoming, not at all pretentious. Perfect lighting - bright enough to read the menu, but dim enough for a sense of privacy. There's also a secluded outdoor patio.
It's a sports bar in a fashion, yet laid back - not all up in your face. 25 beers on tap is plenty. Who needs 100s (when they'll change next week anyway). If you crave the exotic or quixotic, they've 100s (1000s!?) In a 40' glass door self-serve bottle cooler.
The menu looked like creative comfort food, but I was just in for a few brews and didn't really pay it any attention. If there's any one thing that'd make the vibe any better - I'd put in a vote for one of those 1960s freestanding 360° round metal fireplaces. But the chill vibe is already as close to perfect as I've found. Noisy raucous sports bars are a dime a dozen, and they do have their place... Ben's Bottle Shop is a chill respite - a PNW oasis for folks who enjoy sports, and also good...
