From the moment I walked in the door of this restaurant, I was waited on constantly. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful. The tables in the front are gorgeous wood tables that I love. I was lucky enough to be seated at the very front of the restaurant, where I had a view of the street and one of my favorite sculptures down the street. The food is remarkable the crab and cheese fondue is so good, I wanted to take a bath in it! I had the scallops as a meal because I cannot cook scallops to save my life! These were perfect. They come on a bed of risotto which was also perfect. The wine list is excellent, I had a very good Riesling. It was crisp and fruity and not overpowering. The cauliflower steak was done to a tea and the beet salad was good. The banana cream pie was wonderful and so was the coffee.. Chef Miguel came over to talk to me, as well as other diners, and remembered me from an earlier phone call. That personal touch goes a long way! The service was impeccable. And it made no difference who was serving me. The main waitress that I had was Corey. She was so pleasant and so helpful, she was wonderful. All of my leftovers, and there were plenty, we're packaged beautifully and not all mashed together in one box. I had enough food for two more meals! I can't say anything bad about this experience. Everything from the time I walked in till the time I left was flawless. I had left my mask in the car and they even had a disposable mask that I could have! Nothing was left to chance. I cannot wait until I eat here again. With the covid thing going on, I don't really like to go out very often as I am a healthcare worker and need to keep myself safe so I can keep my patient safe. But, believe me, I have found a new restaurant that I definitely will eat at again... and again.. and again! Thank you to chef Miguel and his entire team for making my evening a...
Read moreOur first experience here and it didn't disappoint. My partner and I have a long history of working in the service industry and our review reflects some things we noticed.
The service: Welcome was prompt and friendly, we were seated immediately for our reservation. Our server, Mary, was perfectly attentive, listening, watching and taking queues of when we were ready for anything. Her knowledge of the wine, dishes and menu were on point. Her energy was appropriate for a fine dining experience. Bonus- there was staging and phasing of each course. You don't see that level detail in our local restaurants often.
The food: Appetizers - Asparagus, Crab/Brie fondue. We shared the Halibut main. All were expertly portioned, and the presentation was on point - beautiful. You can tell when a chef takes pride in their work. The flavor profiles were excellent. Each bite had the proper balance of flavors to make it an amazing experience. Highly recommend the Halibut. The blend of the earthy morels, sweet gnocchi, and savory light halibut just exploded with flavor. We could tell each bite was meant to be eaten with these combinations of flavors and was portioned just right. Really good wine selection. (Vinho Verde was slightly effervescent and a great a pairing with our rich fondue)
The atmosphere: It's an intimate place, with unique local art and the ambient music was at the right level for conversation and we felt like we were at our own table not too close to others. You know how some places have so much loud talking you have to raise your voice to hear each other? This isn't like that. Folks were dressed mid-casual and it was a well lit and a warm environment. Bathrooms were clean.
Bonus: Did I mention that Mary was super super awesome? She is. And the food? I want to go back tonight!

Read moreNice restaurant with elevated food (and price). The staff was nice and good. Yummy, pretty food that lacks practicality. My husband had the trout which was deliciously savory and I had the duck. The duck was delicious but the plating, while attractive, was involved and required cutting whole carrots (with green ends still on), mushrooms, and a half fennel onion. This meant I ended up eating all the elements of the dish separately and not in any one bite, while also being a lot of effort. This was made more difficult by the fact that the fancy plate on the smooth table finish was sliding around everywhere. When I brought this up to the server she said "Oh, because of the finish" but didn't help with any solutions, but I put the paper menu under my plate which solved the problem. For dessert we chose the carrot cake which was served in an literal flower pot. While cute, the pot has a hole in the bottom and the cake kept falling out through the hole. The feeling of scraping a metal spoon on a terracotta pot is also not very appealing. We ordered a few cocktails which were a minimum of $12 and quite small. We also had the crab and brie dip appetizer which was incredibly delicious and generous in serving size. As far as atmosphere, we were initially seated in the back near the kitchen, the entrance, and a large, loud fan (it was very hot that day!) and we requested to move since we couldn't hear each other talking. It took some discussion but we eventually moved to the front which was much quieter and a neat nook. They encouraged us to use the QR code menu, which comes off as tacky for me (I've seen this done at low scale places like IHOP) plus troublesome since service was spotty and they...
