I ordered two specialty rolls that were over $10 a roll, a tempura shrimp hand roll at $3.50, and the seaweed salad for $4.50. The hand roll was very good, a little over battered but otherwise really good. I wish that was all I ordered. The seaweed salad was really oily / over dressed. It also consisted of nothing but seaweed, overall not good but not totally bad. On the other hand, the specialty rolls were bad. The spicy tuna tasted old (on one of the rolls). The salmon was almost tasteless (on top of both rolls). Both of my rolls were supposed to have shrimp in them and the shrimp was MIA. I asked the server about it, who didn't see any so she asked possibly the manager or the owner. The manager told her /me it's there it's just very thin so I might not see or taste it... What a waste of money. The server also seemed a little annoyed when I showed up 25ish minutes before they closed for lunch. Probably would of had better luck at one of the track sushi places in the area instead. The only reason this place got two stars is because of the tempura shrimp hand roll, which had actually shrimp that I could see and...
Read moreHad to change my review. It was 5 stars but new management in 2017. Menu is the same but the quality of fish for the sushi has gone down. I'm very sad since this was my favorite sushi restaurant in the NW. Sushi Mo in downtown is my replacement. They don't use as big pieces as oishi but the quality is EXCELLENT like oishi used to be! You don't take over/buy a restaurant and do this. You need to maintain quality or improve. I'm really really mad at the new management. Joe worked so hard on this place and making it good I can't believe the new owners did this. Change the name because you're not worthy of having the name oishi sushi. You have tainted greatness. If oishi was a place of heaven it no longer is there. I hope this place will be restored to it's former...
Read moreIt's a smaller sit down restaurant. Good food. Very kind staff. A little on the pricey side considering conveyor belt sushi is big out here, but I'd say average for a typical sit down sushi restaurant. I'll be honest, I've had thicker slices of fish at one of the conveyor belt sushi spots in Salmon Creek, for half the price. But in Oishi's defense their slices are more on the average side, not necessarily skimpy. They do have high chairs and we're kind to my little ones. Not necessarily a place I'd prefer to take kids though. Like I said in the beginning, it's a bit on the small side. More like a "date" or "1:1 meeting" place than a bring the whole family and have a big meal place. (I'd rather do that at Eastland if I wanted sit down sushi. It's...
