We moved to Englewood from Dayton a year ago and have been dying to find a coffee shop that comes close to our beloved Pettibone, that isn’t a 35 min drive. This place is the closest thing we’ve found thus far! We dined in for the first time this morning. The parking lot is a bit chaotic in the front and it was hard to find a spot. The employee who took our order was nice, not exactly friendly. More so just monotone. I ordered an iced vanilla and caramel latte and a bacon egg cheese bagel. They both were absolutely delicious. My husband ordered a cappuccino and a ham egg and cheese biscuit. Both were good. My husband was the one who waited for our coffee to be ready while I sat at the table. The barista was anything but friendly to him. He said “thank you” when he grabbed the drinks and she had nothing to say. Later, he had to go back and ask for a Togo cup for my latte. He had to ask where the lids were because they only gave him a cup(mind you this was our first time dining here and we didn’t know) and she said with a nasty attitude “um they’re right behind you”. Like why? This is not acceptable and so rude. Time to hire a new barista that’s actually friendly. We tipped when we ordered but who exactly are we tipping? We had to bus our own table and go grab our coffees. If we had known beforehand the attitudes we would receive, we never would have tipped. The coffee and food were almost identical to what we’ve been searching for, but the staff definitely was not...
Read moreAs a San Francisco Bay Area resident who has to spend long periods of time in the northern Dayton metropolitan area to attend to family matters, I can vouch for Warehouse 4 Coffee being the best option for a realistic and quality coffeehouse experience in this area. They are serious about their coffee and do a great job with all of their options. Like all quality coffee joints, you will encounter just a little bit of coffee snobbery attitude, but at least in this place it's justified and still very low-key, unlike what you will encounter at most of the coffeehouses in downtown Dayton or even Troy who serve a lot of sub-par coffee with a whole lot of unjustified attitude. The quality preparation of coffee and food are consistent no matter who is working which speaks to this business prioritizing training and quality. The food options utilize fresh ingredients and are well-prepared. There are lots of seating options but the space is not decorated to maximize noise dampening and much of the seating is crowded together making for close quarters during peak times. Lots of concrete and hard surfaces make for a noisy environment that feels more like a cafeteria than a coffeehouse, but it's worth the 'hit' for the coffee and food. If you need to study or work and are sensitive to noise, plan...
Read moreReally delicious food and the drinks were ok. My complaint lies with the length of time it took to get our drink. I got a drip coffee which I got immediately but my girlfriend had to wait about 15 minutes to get an earl grey tea. I understand that there were other drink orders in before hers but when our hot food comes out before she even has her drink, (which is tea leaves steeped in hot water, not super complex) that's not a great sign. I think I could have let it go but hearing the barista talk loudly enough for everyone to hear "People coming up and complaining about how long their drinks are taking doesn't make them come out any faster. And it wouldn't even help if we hired more staff" I don't know, I hadn't said anything to him, it was just a really negative attitude about the whole situation. Anyway, probably won't be coming back, the food's deliciousness did not outweigh the wait for the drinks and the...
