Fly Dogs — Local services in Vandalia

If you take your dog to Fly Dogs in Vandalia I suggest you stop. They are so unprofessional and their scheduling is absurd. My dog doesn’t even get groomed. She gets a nail trim and a bath. I waited 2 hours in the parking lot after I was told it would take 20-25 minutes. I took her at 10AM and didn’t get her out till 12. Not only that, when they brought her out to me, she wasn’t even dry from her bath and her paw was covered in blood. When I confronted the owner Christy who trimmed my dogs nails, she was very disrespectful and said “if you took her to the vet they wouldn’t let you know” which neither did she. I’m very disappointed in the customer service and care we received today. The lady at the front desk was also very unprofessional and disrespectful. When I asked her to speak to the lady who trimmed my dogs nails she replied with “I don’t have time for this today”. Letting my dog sit in a cage for hours after her appointment was already supposed to have been done is CRUEL! Not sure what else happened to my dog there considering she was foaming out of the mouth. I have been a regular customer for years, they have even groomed my past dogs. She had an appointment at 12:30 and she was there until 5:00 and when I called and asked why they didn’t call me because I would have went and picked her up and rescheduled if they were to busy. Whoever answered they phone was so rude that I will not be going back. I asked if she had even been let out to go to the bathroom, no answer other than over talking me, she lied and said she hasn’t been in the crate long but when I called at 2:30 they hadn’t started her cut. An appointment is an appointment, I didn’t expect them to start on her the minute I got there but 4 1/2 hours later, she is a 6 pound dog with not a lot of hair. Totally ridiculous and uncalled for, she forgot who the customer was, I never expected preferential treatment but come on, common courtesy is all it would have taken. I have 2 one year old pups and I took them to Fly Dogs today for the first time to get groomed. What an awesome experience!! I wish I would have known about Fly Dog a lot sooner. I used to take them to Petsmart but never again after this experience! The difference between the 2 is night and day. So nice and friendly and she got my pups right in and only took about an hour for both of them. VERY reasonably priced. The location and parking is great. She got my thick haired corgi super dry, which has never been done before at the other groomer. I always picked him up and he was still damp.
