Sands on Miami — Restaurant in Venice

My son and I stopped in for a quick bite on a Wednesday night and immediately were greated by the proprietor and advised we were in luck, "Happy Hour" was ending in 15 minutes. We're not big drinkers but both had draft beers which were super cold. The place is very comfortable with high ceilings, a few big screens, and some creative art pieces sparingly on the walls. The bar was filled and about half the tables were occupied. The tables are separated by a partial wall.

I ordered the Shrimp Scallion sandwich with a Ceasar Salad. My son ordered the Grouper sandwich. Also, my son ordered the Pot Sticker App.

All the food was good and service was ok, but my Shrimp Sandwich was out of this world delicious. I asked Jim , the owner, about the recipe and he said it came from the Chef at Cafe Longet, with a few tweaks from Josh. Being from the Newengland area and have traveled the world I have always gravitated toward a restaurant like Cheers! Jim and his professional team has created an amazing environment with extremely delicious appetizers and entrees in that fashion. The beer is cold, the wine is quality and the cocktails are made to perfection. With chef Josh in the kitchen the presentation and taste of every entree is priceless. This is my new go-to place in Venice. They were open briefly before Hurricane Ian hit in Sept 2022. The building unfortunately lost its roof in the storm and they had to start again. Food is great (my favorite is the olive burger), beer is served in a chilled glass, and my wife enjoys the wine list. Bright and airy with good service and fun conversation. There is some outdoor seating in the front and they are working on the patio in the back. Jim, Josh, and the young ladies serving the tables are all fantastic....
