Sloppy Pig Shack — Restaurant in Vernal

I would have selected zero stars if that was an option. The first thing amiss was that it was after five and not one car was in the lot and inside there was no one else. It took awhile to get the attention of the young man at the counter and he was not very knowledgeable about the offerings. The menu board had no prices and they didn't have any menus at the tables and just one menu at the counter again all the prices were blacked out. He said it's been that way for a few weeks... My wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese and I ordered a two plate combo with fries and baked beans. My wife said her pulled pork was mediocre and the Mac & cheese was bland and tasteless. My ribs (3) were overcooked, mostly fat and hardly any edible meat. What meat there was was stringy and almost like jerky. The pulled pork was mushy and the portion size was skimpy at best. The fries (hardly any) were overcooked. By mistake they brought coleslaw instead of beans but they rectified it and brought me some beans. The beans tasted like they had been cooking for over a week. Blech. The mis-delivered coleslaw was nothing but shredded cabbage. Very plain and bland. Gross. The Mug Rootbeer however, was superb. But for almost $40 I expected a lot, lot better. Next time, when the parking lot is empty, I will trust my instincts and go elsewhere with my hard earned money. Eater beware! The Sloppy Pig is not worth your time...

I would not recommend this place. I was raised in the south and this is NOT BBQ. It tastes like it's baked, not smoked Food is not good. It's overcooked and bland. We only ordered two things and they brought out a wrong order. Atmosphere is absolutely terrible. Can not have a proper sit down meal here without other patrons hearing your conversation. It is awkward and dingy with gross carpet and dirty tables and chairs. Small dining area anyway with not a lot of seating options. A little bit of music here would go a long way Way overpriced for what you get. Menu doesn't even have prices listed on it, and a lot of the prices are blacked out

I don't like leaving bad reviews but I was really hoping to get some good food after a long day of driving so I picked this place since it had a lot of good reviews. I was left very disappointed and unsatisfied. To be completely honest this place just does not have good food. At least our waitress was nice and friendly. It's pricey and not good for sit down at all. You'd have a better time at the fast food joints...

We were out in Vernal for a soccer game and decided on this place over cafe Rio because it was different. Well…. It was a mistake. We ordered our food and sat down. It took a little bit to get my family’s order but not bad. The family we were with it took over 40 minutes and when their food, once it came out it was not warm, it had been sitting out. We were the only 2 families in the restaurant. Total of 10. Not sure what happened they could not tell us why. I expressed my concerns to the waitress but I guess she had just come in. She said there was nothing she could do. My family shared what they could with the other family’s kids because they were hungry. Another couple had finally come in and sat down. Their food was out quick.

There is a sign in the restaurant that has the definition of what Hangry is. Well, we were Hangry by the time we left. Angry for the bad service. Not everyone finished their food. We will not be coming...
