This review is about The Potbelly’s Promise: Freshness, Fastness and Friendliness. I came in at their Vernon Hills location not at a busy hour. I was the only customer inside plus one already having his meal. From the Classics Menu I decided to go this time for one of the BIGS. Tuna to be specific. The girl taking my order seemed in training. I could notice it in the way she underserved the protein on a bread which also seemed not fully fresh but dry when she was cutting through it. After asking about the advertised 20% more meat, she and her colleague seemed not to have an appropriate and well-trained answer. Once at the veggies station I noticed my sandwich being overly served with lettuce (which later I appreciated it) and only some withered slices of tomato. I asked how many slices differ the BIG from the ORIGINAL. Her answer was the BIG only contained three. Later another employee (a kind young men whom I had to ask to please clean the only booth table available to sit) explained it wasn’t their fault but the restaurant’s policy to only include a certain number of veggies in the sandwich. My point of view in comparing these sandwiches with other competitors is that the BIG (being their bigger size) should at least consider a fresher fourth slice of tomato. Lastly, to summarize my experience: I do love these sandwiches but to training new employees efficiently may perhaps be the key to keep customers less dissatisfied. The lettuce I mentioned earlier and some extra delicious pickles made me not to chock on a quite dry sandwich with very little protein to enjoy. Living up a PROMISE is something to always keep in mind and...
Read moreOn 01/22/2019 My boss and I went in to your location in between site visits for a late lunch. It was around 3 pm. We started our dine in order with Arturo and ended with Andre. Arturo seemed completely bothered with us even being in the store and interrupting his cleaning. We placed our orders and tried to joke with him to maybe make him smile. He literally didn't care and seemed further bothered by our attempt. We each got a soup, I got a salad, my boss got a wreck, and collectively we purchased chips and drinks. When getting to the end or register, Andre was the person at the register. Andre gave us the worst service we have ever had in any of or travels. Andre refused to look at anything we ordered and seemed to be completely bothered that we had to tell him. On top of that, he slid my bosses wreck across the counter at her, not to her. My boss forgot to ask for a receipt and went back up to Andre and asked for one. Andre responded with what now. With that we ate and were leaving. Upon ;leaving Andre was getting yelled at by another gentleman for throwing the sandwich at him. I called and spoke with Josh the SM, whom said he has spoken with Andre but will have the GM call us. Glen did call me and offered many apologies and he did offer to give us a free meal but My boss is in Chicago so that won't be something we do anytime soon if we even go...
Read moreSo, I’m a regular customer here at this Potbelly location, the team of people I usually see (that are very friendly, positive & welcoming) was not the same team of workers I saw today, today was my first time coming on weekend though. Had the worst experience by far. The soup was COLD, the service was awful, (Which it never has Been :( ) when I went to pay at the register, the young worker was literally just standing there on his PHONE waiting to finish what ever he was doing on it, then put his phone down right on the counter by the register and just walked away to make a shake. Then another young gentleman came to ring us up instead, and he had no expression no customer service barely talked didn’t make any type of eye contact just seemed clueless or confused. Not a thank you have a good day nothing. Idk I’m really disappointed and I’ve been coming here since the summer on a regular basis & today was my first experience that was ann...
