Yard House — Restaurant in Vernon Hills

I'm a huge fan of this chain. The music/vibe, the food, the drinks. Being here just makes me feel happy and worry free... starting with the music. Beer fans (not me but friends and family) appreciate so so many choices and opportunity to taste before committing. If you don't drink beer, they have ciders and really good cocktails. (Good cocktails in a beer focused joint isn't very common). This location is brand new but well staffed and servers,cooks,bartenders have seemed really prepared. The outdoor patio is really nice and comfy (but not covered so weather dependent). As a local resident, I was hoping for a Yardhouse addition to Hawthorne 2.0 (after visiting the Glen location) and surprisingly, I got my wish! I plan to be there a lot. Try poke nachos & mushroom truffle pizza. Philly cheesesteak pretty good (not the best I've ever had...but better than most restaurant versions). Husband loved the whiskey cheddar burger. Good happy hour specials M-F 3-6.

If you are meeting friends and want separate checks... the table kiosk makes it super easy to pay for just your own items (without feeling like a jerk asking server for 5 separate bills.). So smart! Kiosk also allows you to order a drink yourself on demand instead of flagging down server.

Note: yeah, the RSVP opening day event was a bit of chaos cuz everyone came right at the beginning and we had to wait quite a while. But once we did finally get a table, the service and product was terrific. And the rsvp did get us several perks, free drinks and credits for future visits. So I can't complain. The wait turned some people off understandably. But having been twice since, I can confirm the rsvp event is not representative of normal operation. I'd encourage anyone frustrated from that day to try...

I was excited to try the new Yard House location in Vernon Hills, and it did not disappoint! I usually visit the Glenview location, but this one is much closer to home and incredibly convenient.

We opted for outdoor seating, and the vibe was perfect relaxed and inviting. I always love a good patio experience, and this one hit the mark.

Even though I’ve been to Yard House many times, our server Pamela went above and beyond by recommending a new entrée we wouldn’t have picked on our own. I’m a pretty picky eater, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Despite the restaurant being very busy, our server Pamela maintained a great attitude and checked in with us frequently. She kept us updated on our food and drinks, which made the entire dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Her energy was genuinely refreshing, warm, attentive, and welcoming.

When you go to a place and get great service you MUST give a shout out! Kuddos #1 easily changed tables bc I was cold. Kuddos #2. Brendan. Great at his job! For apps. I hate spicy and I'm a super picky eater. However he took the time to ask the kitchen what could be done to accommodate my request Vernon spicy item that literally says on the menu it's spicy. Kuddos #3 for the kitchen for being so accommodating Kuddos #4. Brendan offered and explained the whole beer flight in a clear way with sample Kuddos #5 here's the out of the box one maybe? I wanted to try the mashed potatoes before ordering and they gave me a little taste so I didn't "get stuck" with food I don't like. That means a lot for a picky eater! Kuddos #6 we forgot to order chicken on the salad adding totally last minute. And they took care of it. Kuddos #7 checked in frequently. But not toouch Kuddos # food is delish!
