SITKA Gear — Local services in Vernon Hills

EXTREMELY Disappointed!! This Vernon Hills location has been promoting an event that took place today claiming the first X amount of customers would receive a $500 credit on Sitka gear. After waiting in line with other patrons (some of whom drove hours with kids and waited in line for hours in the cold) we walked in to receive a coupon starting at a value of $25. Although some people received $100+ coupons, two young men in line ahead of me, who had been standing in the cold all morning, received $25!!! A complete failure in event planning and a huge slap in the face to their customers! They misled everyone prior to the event and then didn't have the decency to extend the larger discounts to the people that showed up the earliest. My husband went back later in the day and received a coupon 2X more than the amount received by the kid in front of me when the doors first opened. This store owes those first 60 patrons standing in line an apology and, in my opinion, should extend an extra discount to anyone that showed up early to a $25-$100 coupon when $500 was advertised. I have no respect for companies that treat their customers like this. Those patrons are hard working, loyal customers that were used for a cheap photo opportunity. Not sure if Sitka mismanages their other stores like this or if it was just horrifically incompetent event planning. I hope they understand and recognize the sacrifices the early customers made to participate in this promotion today and that the store tries to do the right thing. I don't personally care about myself but I care very much about the young men in line who were hoping to afford a pair of waders and couldn't even buy a t-shirt with their $25 coupon. Again, very...

Stopped by on a Saturday, and it was a great experience. Greeted by two employees and chatted for a bit before letting me shop. Ended up getting two pieces that were on sale, both at lower prices than the previous sale prices I've seen from Sitka online. The employees were extremely nice and knowledgeable, showing me the features of their new arrivals, helping me try on their new footwear, and discussing some of my upcoming hunts. Stopped in today and was immediately greeted by multiple employees.

They gave me space to shop and offered help when needed. Great customer service.

Hopefully soon the Vernon hills store will be able to order directly for the customers in store. The Vernon hills store cannot currently order individual items for customers or facilitate online returns according to the employees.
