Extremely disappointed!!! Took my father out for his birthday along with a few friends thinking from some of the reviews it would be a great experience – Boy was I disappointed!!! – We got a late start because of a local accident that blocked traffic but arrived in time for lunch 3:00 although the waitress almost insisted we pay for dinner. From the start I knew we were in trouble when I had to hunt for clean plates and utensils amongst what was put out for patrons. Started with the shrimp and sushi, few shrimp spread across the frozen tundra of ice but managed to grab a few and the sushi looked good and was plentiful as well as wasabi and pickled ginger. The shrimp were ok but not very fresh and the cocktail sauce watered down, the sushi looked good but you could tell it wasn’t the freshest ingredients, the wasabi was not hot I could have eaten it by the spoonful; the winner was the pickled ginger of all the items so far. My next stop is usually finger foods I picked up some teriyaki chicken, an egg roll, and was looking for spare ribs but none were found the waitress mumbled something before she went it the opposite direction so I just forgot about it and went for the boneless rib pieces. The chicken was dry and was missing the teriyaki, I knew I was in trouble when I bit into the egg roll and grease was dripping on my chin and almost broke a tooth on the boneless rib pieces when I tried to eat them. Ok next on my agenda was some wonton soup after fishing out a clean cup from the pile of dirty cups left for the patrons, the wontons were discolored but eatable finally something I could eat! It was at this time our waitress brought over the check and growled when we asked for more hot tea. My next stop was to sample some of the mail dishes I like to put fried rice in the center of my dish and try a few things around it. The fried rice was dry and stuck to the bottom of the pan but I managed to put a spoonful on my plate along with peppered steak, generals chicken, bourbon chicken. The peppered steak was beef in brown gravy along with some worse for wear onions and peppers, generals chicken waved the white flag and gave up and the closest thing the bourbon chicken ever got to a bottle of bourbon was the bottle sitting next to the pot. At this time one of my friends found the spare ribs and returned to the table with the waitress and a male worker yelling at her the ribs were only for dinner I thought they were going to take it out of her mouth and at this time she started to clear our table in hopes we would leave and when we didn’t started to clean the area we were sitting from top to bottom including taking the tables and seats apart and wiping walls and picture frames (I wished she was in charge of cleaning plates and utensils). I personally had given up hope of finding anything truly eatable and decided to call it a day and head to the ice cream section for desert when I arrived back to the table with my desert the rest of my group thought it was a good idea till they got there and found someone had shut down the section to freshen it up for 20 minutes, we waited just for spite at this point. The waitress was rude and never once refilled any of our drinks and growled when we asked for a second pot of hot tea and last night I started with gastronomical distress which I still have 24 hours afterwards. People RUN I don’t care if you have a coupon or even if the dinner was free, I for one would never go back...
Read moreFor years I have looked at reviews for this place and they were all over the place... "Best food ever", "Worst food ever", "Restaurant clean", "Restaurant filthy"... I finally decided to check it out for myself tonight. Let me start with the staff IS friendly and courteous. The restaurant is an old structure so cleaning, painting, remodeling will not make it look like a 5-star restaurant...get over that thought! It's old and as far as food service standards, it appears clean. Now on to the overall rating... Apparently the restaurant has been exposed to some water damage as it immediately has an overwhelming aroma of a locker room that needs to clean the showers. 🤦♀️ Funny, I would have thought the first thing I would smell is the traditional smells of freshly cooked Asian food. 🙄 Silly me. Now, the food... The VERY COLD FOOD... Even as they brought out fresh refills on the buffet tables, it was at best, room temperature. Not good! Yes, the rice is bone dry, the lo mein noodles tasted freezer burned and most of it lacked flavors traditionally found in Asian cuisine. The sweet and sour sauce was fantastic, but the chicken was so dry, I couldn't even chew it or find the meat under the thick hard batter. The boneless spare ribs were very tasty, but more of a jerky than rib meat. Overall, I sampled a bite of most everything offered with the exception of the sushi (Not a fan, but scary to see it sitting on a counter top either way.) and the seafood (Huge fan but was concerned and given the temperature of the other hot foods.). Desserts: 🤣🤣🤣 Was it Little Debbie cut in pieces?? 🤔 Don't forget the jello, pudding, fruit that seemed like leftovers (looked dried out), and "cream puffs" with (God, I hope it was a flavorless red syrup!) and a whipped dollop that contained absolutely no cream. So, my first visit here was my last. $40 for 2 people was not well spent! Sadly I had to throw away more food than I ate. 😞 I'm still hungry. I have a lifetime of experience eating Asian foods from restaurants, some I actually had to order in various Asian dialects to help communicate with the staff properly, and this was a far cry from genuine cuisine. (That is, the American version of Asian cuisine... fastfood.) Good luck if you're going! P.S. My sinuses were very congested about 25 minutes after arriving and cleared immediately after stepping outside... I don't have allergies. 🤷♀️ Be cautious if you're sensitive to...
Read morePLEASE READ MY EXPERIENCE!!!! I don’t live in Vero I was on my way home passing by, I live in st lucie was hungry and looked up area restaurants I read google reviews mostly bad but figured I’ve give them a shot anyway as most reviews seemed to be sterotipical/racist over tones.one reviewer claimed cat meat. another reviewer stated they were scammed billed 2x on there credit card, So i made sure to pay with cash. going inside 1st impression was a big letdown as they claim to be the “LARGEST INTERNATIONAL BUFFETT” it was small. The restaurant itself seemed clean but the food was a hot mess, stupid me should have known better but that day I was hungry been on the road awhile so I continued to stay and eat.1st off some of the food was clearly old and past due to be changed 2nd they don’t separate seafood everything is intermixed with regular food, I didn’t like that! Seemed gross to me as I don’t eat seafood also thinking what about people with fish allergies. there desert section” if that’s what you call it is so tiny and the area is so messy. Service was good but overall experience was a let down did not live up to the hype. Here’s when the story gets worse. When I got home I felt soo sick my stomache hurt so bad felt really bad cramps then got shaky and sweaty I knew right away what was up and was furiously cursing that places name to myself I started throwing up like crazy and diarreah it would not stop through the night I barley got any sleep my wife felt so bad she said I was so pail in the face.Next day “today” I’m still having massive stomach pains I may have to go see a doctor.i believe I have food poisoning hoping it will pass. I love Chinese food eat it all the time never experienced this before. Do I believe it was cat meat no, but unsanitary YES! Health department needs to look at this place. If your in the Jensen beach area I can suggest a waaaaaaay better Chinese buffet called makita buffett it’s huge, desert section is actually a section and seafood is separated. I never take the time to write reviews this is literally 1 of a very few but felt the need to share. Don’t make the...
