First off my husband checked us in online, we acknowledged the hostess that we we're there. Told us to have a seat there will be about a 20 minute wait. Then my husband gets a text asking if we would like to sit at a high top table at the bar area to get seated sooner. Sure no problem, we get seated and no one acknowledged us for about 20 minutes. I finally get up and go to the hostess area and ask if someone is going to wait on us.
Few minutes later a guy comes up and gets our drinks order and said there was a miscommunication at the bar that no one knew they we're to take our table.
I find it odd that as many employees that walked by us and see us sitting at a table for that long with no drinks or anything someone could have asked if we have been helped.
Mine and my husband's food finally comes out, our sirloins we're tough and seared too much that it was hard to cut into the steaks, we ordered the 6oz steaks and they came out like 3 oz. My sweet baked potato was still raw and not cooked all the way through.
The girl from the bar came up and asked how is everything and I told her about my baked sweet potato, she brought me another one. Then explained to her about our steaks, she apologized for it and kept saying they were in the middle of shift change and the cooks probably we're backed up and in a hurry to get food out. Not sure how they could send out our food looking the way it did
The manager never came up to us to apologize about our food or our experience.
We have visited multiple longhorn steakhouses out of town and never experienced this before. Very...
Read moreRefried fries? At 11 a.m.? Maybe they weren’t technically “refried,” but they tasted old—like the grease hadn’t been changed in a while. When the waitress came back around, I asked for fresh fries, and she said she’d get some. What I got were just as bad—only hotter.
The Chicken Parmesan was no better. Dry and greasy at the same time—something I didn’t know was possible. I ordered the smaller portion, and what came out looked like three tiny chicken nuggets. They didn’t taste much better either. Chicken isn’t that hard to cook, but smaller pieces should cook faster and fresher. These tasted anything but.
When the waitress dropped off the tab, she saw all the food still on my plate. I figured she’d ask why I didn’t eat it—but instead she asked if I wanted a to-go box. I definitely did not.
And then there was the seating. When I walked in, the hostess asked “how many,” I said “one,” and she offered a tall table. Fine. But then she started leading me toward the bar. I quit drinking 10 months ago, and sitting surrounded by bottles and drinkers is not where I want to be. I asked not to sit there, and she gave me a look—then walked me back to the front without a word. I apologized quickly, saying I’d rather not sit at the bar, but she never acknowledged me. The same cold, dismissive vibe carried through as I walked past her again.
If they fix those issues, I’d give the place another try. But as it stands, it wasn’t a...
Read moreI came to Victoria to visit family. Today we went to eat at Texas Longhorn for my birthday. There were 8 of us. First the waiter took us to a booth. Dad is 82 and the rest of us are not spring chickens either. We asked for a table instead because it would be inconvenient for sure if one of us had to get up. He said yes. While that was going on our brother decided to join us. Now there are nine of us. We asked if we could put two tables together and he said he had to go ask. He came back and said the manager said we could not, WHAT? I have never been to a restaurant that wouldn't put two tables together for their guest. If my sister n law didn't have to go to work, we would have left. My husband and I are from Beaumont and don't see our family here real often. So for my birthday dinner with family, I didnt get to visit with half of our group. Dad tried to talk to the manager. She would not budge! She said they were going to allow it soon but they were not equipped yet, WHAT? If the waiters couldn't handle a group of nine, they could still have a waiter for each table. I spent my bday dinner being mad and disappointed. If it would not have been for this manager, our visit would have been perfect. The food and our two servers were good. I will not be coming back to this Victoria Longhorn. I will definitely ask to eat at another restaurant that we can all sit together...
